Amazingly versatile camera system with reasonable compromises

Summary: I never thought I'd be writing this review. I used to have a Canon APS-C body with a few L lenses, but I abandoned that a few years ago due to the size (baby in tow). At that time, I discovered the micro 4/3 system, and was very happy with the results, especially with the reduced bulk. Late last year, I updated my micro 4/3 system with a new body and a few new lenses. I am very happy with the portability coupled with the image quality.
Summary: I have had this camera for about 6 months. It is an amazing Mirrorless Camera that has all the bells and whistles of cameras much more expensive than the Nikon 1 sells for. You have the option to shoot in Raw, Manual, Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority. Just like the big guys (DSLR's). It is a camera that will make you put your DSLR's away for use on special occasions. Don't think twice. Buy it. You will not be disappointed.
Very solid and compact camera and you'd never know it was ever refurbished.

Summary: I received this product free for review but as always, despite receiving a free product I'm perfectly candid in my review. My observations follow below in more or less chronological order. * Looking at this product I'd never know it was refurbished. Extremely pristine externals and no signs of wear. * See my brief sample movie for an example of the video quality * Comes with battery, charger, 90-day warranty, strap and mini-USB cable.
Summary: I've owned a camera for 45 years since back during the flash bulb era when I was young. I owned a Minolta X-700 back in the 80's when taking a picture was lot's more difficult. I've taken a college photography course that taught a lot of concepts and skills. I don't consider myself a photographer but I sure enjoy a good camera and have several pictures hanging on my walls and the walls of family. So this review is for those like me. So what about the Nikon 1 S1?
Excerpt: I bought this when my Point and Shoot gave up the ghost. It was discounted and I got it and the kit lens for a good price. Because it has a small sensor I really didn't expect much from this camera, but when I started taking pictures I was amazed at the Image Quality of the Photos, Focus is super fast and it does a really good job with Low Light situations.
