Features

The Mamiya DL33 Digital Camera System features a resolution of 33 megapixels, a large sensor that allows a pixel size of 7.2 microns which 36 x 48 mm. The larger pixels also produce images with richness and color accuracy, smooth, subtle transitions from tone to tone and highlight and shadow detail, as well as produces images with a more three-dimensional look. The camera features a 3.5 inch touch screen on the DL33 that offers a bright, high-contrast display ideal for outdoor or indoor work. The DL33 combines the Mamiya 645 AFD III camera system with the 33 megapixel Aptus-II 7 Digital Back from Leaf. These two features work as an integral unit in the 645 AFD III body with a coreless motor for faster, accurate auto focusing and an interface system that provides total communication between the camera, lens and digital back. The Mamiya DL33 also features 16-bit capture, 12-stop dynamic range and an ISO range of 50 - 800. The 33 MP back produces 67 Mb RAW file that can be converted into jpegs, 8 bit or 16 bit tiff files (a 16 bit tiff file is 190 Mb) that will allow for enlargements of any size. This will also enable cropping of distant subjects without noticeable loss in quality. The Mamiya DL33 comes with the Leaf Capture 11.2 software, but users can also open Leaf RAW files with commonly used programs including Adobe Photoshop CS3/4 (with the latest version of ACR software), Lightroom 2 and Apple Aperture 2. The camera features the Aptus II 7 back that can capture images at approximately 1 frame per second. Users can also use the included FireWire cable and Leaf Capture 11.2 software to shoot directly to a computer. The Mamiya DL33 will be available starting April 2009 for $19,999 and comes with a 55 mm f2.8 or 150 mm f3.5 lens.
