Summary: There are many new cameras on the market over the past few years but the X1 still takes better quality pictures. I heard the later X models have improved auto-focusing, but this being the first one in the series, perhaps will become a classic some day.
Summary: THE LEICA LENS PRODUCES IMAGES THAT I ADMIRE OVER THE YEARS AS A LECIA USER. THE BODY AND LENS ARE QUITE COMPACT . THE LENS HOUSING AND THE BATTERY COVER SEEMS TO BE PLASTIC, I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED METAL FOR DURABILITY.

Summary: There are many web reviews of this camera. The best feature is the lens and sensor. While there is a new model, the X2, released in June 2012, the price has come down considerably on this model. The lens has passed sharpness tests and beat models in its class.
Excerpt: Well balanced in my hands. Reasonable bulk for its purpose. Relatively lightweight. Terrific lens. Resolution and color utterly satisfying. Autofocus a dissapointment despite firmware version 2.0, improved only M/F. For fast shootting, especially in low light situations, stick to manual focusing.
