Summary: A great camera with so many features that I can't use them all! The only problem I have is that some of its software is for PC-only and I have a Mac. Pretty short-sighted of Leica. The size is perfectly pocket-sized and its zoom capabilities are smooth and adequate for my usage.

Summary: I bought a V Lux 40 camera in 2012. Few months ago it started to presente a System Error (Zoom) message at the screen. I sent it to Leica US customer service and the answer was: " our camera has been evaluated by our technician and found to require a new lens assembly.
Summary: A few years ago I stopped carrying my big camera due to shoulder and neck issues. I saved up enough money to get this little camera and have been very happy with it. A point and shoot will never replace a DSLR but this comes close. I have been able to get some great shots from this camera.
Summary: This is the perfect pocket camera. Leica produces the finest cameras in the world. Their cameras easily beat my Nikons and my old Pentax. There is only a Leica. If you are serious about cameras then buy a serious camera.

Summary: I bought the camera last December and last week stopped working and the local Leica authorized technical assistance, in Brazil, asked equivalent to US$ 195, to manage to send the camera to the USA and to repair, forecasting something around 30-60 days to get it back.
Summary: I bought this for my wife for christmas and she's been having a ball using it. It takes great photos and videos and the 3" screen is a nice size. It's difficult to see your subject when outdoors in the sunlight or a dark environment but what camera isn't when you don't have a view finder.
