Summary: I bought the Leica D-Lux4 as a hopeful compromise between my Nikon SLR and my Canon point-and-shoot. I found it to be an excellent choice. Leica has created a point-and-shoot with manual options that has an unparalleled feel aesthetically. Coming from the Canon, I found the controls to be fairly intuitive. The photo quality is incredible, the LCD screen stunning.
Summary: This is an excellent little camera that really can't be considered a simple point and shoot. It's so much more than that, with its incredible Leica Summicron f2 lens, full manual shooting option, and RAW capability. Though in most ways the same as the panasonic lumix lx3, there are a few things that really set it apart from the lx3.
Pros: This camera is perfect from both a usability and a quality standpoint. Bought it used six months ago and it goes with me everywhere. Very easy to use when you don't have much time to get ready but want to get that quality shot.
Cons: So many features I am having a gard time learning and remembering.
Summary: The Leica D-Lux is just the best point and shoot camera I have ever had. I love the Leica lens ( I had an old 3F) and this camera is flexible, small, easy to use and the results are just great. One problem is the camera does not have a built in lens cap, so you have to take it off each time you use it. It is great for traveling, landscape and casual hotos. The possibilities are infinite.
Summary: Love the Leica camera even though it is used and expensive, but am very happy and satisfied with it. It's worth for me. I thank to my special friend who is eBay member and advised me to get the same one as he has now. I will buy more of Leica products in the future. It has great features. I don't have any negative comments.
Summary: I own a Leica R8 with a DMR back and a number of Leica lens, a Leica DLux3 & DLux4 and the Leica X1. I can say with 100% certainty that the DLux 4 is an absolute wonder. The image quality is remarkable and is one of my most used cameras. I will not be selling this camera even when a newer model comes out. If you buy this camera, you will not be disappointed. There is really nothing I dislike about the camera.
