Excerpt: Great Little Gem! Hooked to my belt during a 3 week business trip in Europe was always ready to shoot at a moments notice. I used mainly the program mode and the food mode and landscape mode all in natural light settings. Outstanding shots! See my page for samples. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=202628196 Problems: I do not like the battery and SD door cover and latch.
Summary: I purchased the camera for its compact size, great optics and high-quality image processing. Additionally, the camera is well constructed and offers flexible control options. Very pleased so far.
Summary: Like many photographers with pro SLR digicams, I've been on a seemingly endless search for an ultracompact, truly pocketable digicam that could produce photos without great compromises in quality. And finally, my search ended with the purchase of a C-Lux 3. Before I get to specifics, a word about what "truly pocketable" means to me. It means that I can pocket the camera in either my jeans or the inside pocket of a sport jacket without awareness of either size or weight.
Summary: This is a great P&S camera and I love it. It truly performs as you'd expect from a Leica product. Colors are perfect - especially skin tones. This is my favorite camera - it never leaves my side. The only 'complaint' I have is the poor placement of the on/off switch; when you slide this into a camera pouch it slides the switch to the 'on' position. Otherwise, I'm happy with the controls and the feel of the camera.
Summary: Sustains: - I own a C-Lux 1, received it as a gift in 2006. This camera is just a bit thinner, but looks even more so due to the design. - The controls have been simplified greatly. The wheel which controls the type of shot you take has been reduced from 6 (?) settings to two. The on/off switch received a cosmetic change, but retained the hard "click" which makes it difficult to turn on accidentally in your pocket. - I purchased the glossy white camera.
