Summary: Just raved about this little camera in my review of my Canon T1i. This camera leaves the Canon in the dust. Gave my last one to my wife and bought a Sony F-828 (which my son now has). Both of those cameras beat the Canon T1i badly when it comes to image quality. Mostly its Canons cheap optics in our price range. Canon makes the best in the $20,000 range. Sony bought Minolta out and now they have by far the best optics but you give up speed.
Summary: The trend seems to be ebay sellers switching to crappy little cellphones for their pictures. Its a darn shame, because this Konica Minolta Dimage Z2 is a nice little point and shoot camera with GREAT optical for nice pictures. PERFECT FOR EBAY and online sales. The problem today with people who sell is they have a cellphone or digital camera with highly inflated megapixel numbers. They dont understand that megapixels alone mean NOTHING! Its all about the OPTICAL!!!!!!!!!
Summary: I do a lot of zoom photography and the combination of both digital and optical zoom is great for those long shots of wild life that I often get. The quick ability to turn on the digital zoom has saved many shots that would have "gotten away" had I used other cameras. I am very happy to recommend this camera to anyone wanting a reasonably priced camera for the long shots.
Excerpt: i have been a professional photographer over 27yrs, this camera is ideal for portraits and general outdoor use. only small complaints being the lag on the shutter time and flash coverage for wide angle lens adaptor is poor. apart from that a perfect camera for travelling as light bodyweight and fairly compact for a 10Xzoom lens. to getthe most out off camera try long exposures with a tripod and timer.
