Great for learning photography!
18 September 2012
Summary: Got this camera for my son's photography class. He is really happy with it. Even took the time to text me from class to say thank you. It offers everything he needs to learn about the modes and taking pictures for class projects.
Summary: I gave up a Canon Rebel EOS with three lenses ranging from 18-200 for $350 to buy this Minolta for $50, replaced the battery door (it had been corroded) for $30, and I'm just thrilled to death with it. I take photos of critters at my outside feeding stations, and this camera runs rings around the Canon. PLUS, it's small, no need to swap lenses all the time, it's all in the camera. I've used a lot of cameras in my 62 years, and I'm just thrilled with this one.
Summary: My husband bought me this camera new in 2003 and paid over $450... a lot to spend on a camera at that time. Love the clarity of the pictures and always got a lot of compliments on the photos I took. Love the flip up flash. Love that you can look at the screen or look through the view finder when taking pictures. We were sold rechargeable AA batteries with it, and it was a very wise investment!
Summary: Take excellent pictures. I've taken it to vacations everywhere, domestic and overseas. Love the 10x optical zoom. 3.2MP is good enough for me since I don't do prints much, mostly facebook and other online picture sharing. It has a tripod mounting screw socket at the bottom, which is great for taking professional shots without blurs. Too bad it only has a small built-in display, i think it's around 1.5" compare to 3" these days.
Summary: the camera is easy to operate, did'nt need the book for the most part. takes great pictures. downfall is the electric plug in adapter is too EXPENSIVE!! stick with a good set of rechargable batteries. it would also be nice to eliminate the musical sound when turning it on. it's not freindly to use in the woods taking photos of deer or wild game........
