Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 Digital Camera Review
10 September 2013
Excerpt: The 8-megapixel DiMAGE X1 is one of the most compact and slim cameras made by Konica Minolta. Despites for being so small, it has a large 2.5 inch LCD with bright backlight function making it confortable to use. For the first time in the DiMAGE X series, the DiMAGE X1 offers Anti-Shake Mode for steady shots in low light conditions.
Excerpt: The Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 is a thin and tiny digital camera with large LCD screen and anti-shake technology that helps you take sharp photos. Video recording capability, computer, printer and TV connectivity make it an all-round camera for any member of the family. The 8 megapixel image resolution and image stabilization technology can produce large prints for family photo albums.
Conclusion: Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 digital camera The DiMAGE X1 digital camera, truly is a shining star, both literally and figuratively speaking! With its stunning looks, the DiMAGE X1 really is a camera that deserves to be seen. Its design is also much more beautiful than the awkwardly angular shapes that distinguish the other models from the X-series.
Conclusion: Overall I was unconvinced by the charms of the Konica Minolta Dimage X1. On the plus side I liked the style. If its megapixels you are looking for then this camera certainly has them. Picture quality is no better than average though and the shutter lag is likely to cause you to miss anything that moves.
Excerpt: Introduction: Announced on the 15th of July , the innovative Konica Minolta Dimage X1 (available in Black, Red, and Silver) features a Konica Minolta 3x optical zoom lens, an 8 megapixel sensor, and a large 2.5" screen. The Konica Minolta Dimage X1 is not only the most compact 8 megapixel digital camera currently available, but it's also the only digital camera to feature an anti-shake CCD sensor and lens unit.
Pros: Very stylish / compact and pocketable, Anti-shake CCD/Optics really works!, Very low purple fringing, Quick switch on time, Good movie mode (optical zoom / anti-shake / night mode), Easy to use (easy to use menus etc), Good macro mode, Audio recording facility, Contrast / Sharpness controls (although saturation would be a nice addition)
Cons: Anti-shake stops working when battery is low, No custom white balance, Noticable barrel (wide-angle) and pincushion (telephoto) distortion, High noise, especially indoors with ISO left on Auto, Slightly sluggish performance (focusing in low light / playback zoom / menus)
Summary: The Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 is an undeniably stylish, ultra-compact digital camera that is perfect for anyone looking for a point and shoot model that is easy to use. It's also well-built and cleverly designed, and the non-extending lens means that it's a quiet camera. The 8 megapixel images are great for making large prints, but unfortunately this has a rather important drawback.
Summary: The Konica Minolta X1 is a very stylish piece of kit and incorporates cutting-edge digital camera technology, including folded optical paths and KM’s special anti-shake technology. However, it doesn’t convincingly improve on the image quality of the average 5-megapixel camera. Still, it does look very nice.
