For its bulk, I wish it would focus better.

  • Excerpt: Konica-Minolta A2: The Middle Ground Isn't Good Enough I am smitten with digital photography and keep looking for the right balance of quality and compactness. One purchase was a Konica-Minolta DiMAGE A2, which has a lengthy list of admirable features. I paid $700 for my A2 a couple years ago. Bottom line: Too big to be convenient and not quite an SLR, there's little reason to buy the Konica-Minolta DiMAGE A2.

The Konica Minolta camera takes good pictures, but slowly.

  • Excerpt: We purchased this camera from an auction for pretty cheap, and I definately would not have paid full price for it. This camera does take good quality photos if you are super still, and can get everyone to hold their poses for a full minute. For some reason it seems to take a very long time to take a photo, and you miss a lot like the baby smiling and what not before the camera takes the picture. It can be very frustrating at times.

Great camera until the electronic viewfinder breaks (it will!)

cheapcamerajunkie "steve", Amazon
22 December 2008
  • Summary: This is a great camera until the electronic viewfinder (EVF)breaks. The ribbon cable leading to the EVF fractures and the viewfinder goes black. It's a very common fault and costs over $200 to repair. Google "Konica Minolta A2 EVF problem" and you'll get plenty of hits. Take the EVF cover off and you'll see Konica Minolta's answer to preventing the problem - don't fix the root cause, just stick a cheesy piece of yellow adhesive tape over the place where the cable always...

Product Photography

  • Summary: I am inexperienced and have found this camera difficult to use for capturing images of products. The white adjustment is not automatic and must be tuned each time.

My Dimage A@

zalt57, Ebay
12 April 2006
  • Summary: I purchased this camera as a replacement to the dimage 5 megapixel which I loved and carried around with me through out China in 2003. the A2 also went to China in 2005, but the I found the quality of the photos to be inferior to the earlier model. The camera also started to fall apart soon after purchase. first the rubber eye piece fell off. I was lucky I found it and still have it so one day I will get the company to glue it back on.

lot of bells and whistle, but does not amount to much

NiceGuy, Amazon
16 November 2004
  • Summary: Pro: The camera itself is easy to use. Has a lot of bells ans whistle, which you may or may not need for everyday photography of ameteures. I don't think it is worth the price. If I were to buy one again, I would go for something simple. If you don't worry about every litttle detail in shooting a picture, then the numerous knobs and control will only contribute to your overall confusion.

Bad quality control

Nano, Amazon
16 September 2004
  • Summary: Got the camera with a few dead pixels on the LCD monitor. Did they do their QC?!Returned to Amazon with no hassle though. I only played with it for 2 hours and here's what I found- Pro: auto switch between EVF and LCD, Nice lens with mechanical zoom, anti-shake, fast start Cons: cumbersome control for zoom in/out the photo, manually turned-on flash, no swivel LCD, the CF slot cap can be easily mis-opened (no secure mechanism), movie is limited to 15 min, no hole on the...

Problemas y + problemas con Playmon, nada aconsejables

Enrique, quesabesde.com
15 December 2009
