Takes Pictures I always wished for.

swpsmith, Ebay

  • Summary: Just bought and still learning all the Capabilities but I've been able to take pictures of wildlife I never could get before. I just took it to a baseball game and took many wonderful shots of the players. I just wish the time it takes from when you push the button until it actually snaps was faster. But I still find it better than any camera I've ever owned and it allows pictures I could never hope to get before.

Excellent long zoom and all-in-one camera for beginners

  • Summary: Initially I was determine to buy Powershot SX500IS, however the retail sales assistant showed me 2 images took by both Powershot SX500IS and EasyShare z981 respectively. I was amazed by how sharp the images from EasyShare z981 turn out to be in zoom mode. The sales assistant told me that it is because of the Schneider-KREUZNACH optical zoom lens, which is often use in DSLR. However, I was reluctant to buy EasyShare z981 after looking at the online reviews.
  • Pros: Amazing sharpness for zooming capability and macro mode. Flash proves to be outstanding for night mode. EVF mode during daylight. Intuitive and user friendly design with portrait mode capturing. Default settings for p, a, s and fast capture.
  • Cons: A lot of noise for video mode at night, but it provides very smooth playback. Also, noise in darker and low light conditions are pretty obvious. Camera design (appearance-wise) is really not outstanding.

  • Summary: It took a little getting used to because I was used to very simple point & shoot camera's but this one has alot more features , so once I learned them , I started taking phenominal shots ! Great camera , easy to carry around , get the quality of a high end Digital Camera without the confusing complexity of a high end Digital Camera. I highly reccomend this camera ! Im very happy with it !

Awesome point-and-shoot camera! Great value for the money!

  • Summary: I bought this Kodak because I wanted a lightweight camera that takes top quality pictures as a back-up to my DSLR camera. I primarily take sports pictures for high school, weddings, and senior pics. I have owned and used two Kodak point-and-shoots in the past, and loved them, especially for portraits. I used this camera at our high school's graduation, and it took excellent pictures -- sharp, clear, great color, using only the pop-up flash (indoors).

  • Summary: I can finally afford a GOOD camera, but the idea at my age : ) of all the lens isn't appealing, so this fits the bill just right! The zoom on this camera never ceases to amaze me! IT is best to use tripod for sky shots or other far away shots, tho!

Feature rich camera - great pictures - outstanding value -Kodak gets and A+

  • Summary: This camera is an upgrade from a Kodak Z915. I bought it for two reasons: The 26X Zoom feature, and the close-up lens capability. In both cases, I'm very pleased. The camera is feature-loaded, including some I'll never use, but I have difficulty in envisioning anything one would want or need - up to an intermediate photographer - that this does not have. Picture quality is outstanding. The Kodak face recognition feature is very nice.
