VERY SLOW TAKING PICTURES!!

ohiohawkeye, Viewpoints

  • Excerpt: I bought this camera in the fall 2010 for my dad because he wanted something bigger for his hands and something very easy to use. The Kodak-EasyShare Z915 was a waste of money. I read reviews about it before I bought it and decided to buy it based on the positive reviews. The two complaints about the camera were the battery life and the slowness of taking pictures. I informed my dad of this but we went and bought it anyway. We have not had any trouble with the battery.

Unrealized potential

  • Summary: Steer clear. If you just want a camera to snap photos with, you can get others cheaper. If you're looking for more, find it elsewhere. This is just a headache.
  • Pros: plenty of megapixels, great zoom, lots of features
  • Cons: poor image quality, messed up button

Waste of Money...

26 July 2010
  • Summary: I bought this one from [...]after looking at lots of reviews on Internet/cnet but they were misleading.1. Flash> is very poor. Not at all good for indoor photos. Photos appear to be very unclear even after the person standing under the direct light.I already have a Kodak Z740 a 2004 or may be 2005 model with same optical zoom but 5mp and is incredible in quality with indoor/outdoor works great in low light though little more lag time. but its worth.
  • Pros: Great Zoom, High Resolution, Short Lag Time
  • Cons: Poor Flash, Poor Image Quality, Too Large / Bulky

"Auto mode pictures often unusable"

TheGirlsMom, CNET
15 July 2010
  • Pros: 10x zoom works well.
  • Cons: Automatic mode is awful. Many pictures overexposed, many just completely black, majority unusable - this seems to be getting worse over time. No option to force flash in Auto mode (only Off, Auto or Red-Eye Reduction).

  • Pros: The zoom on the Z915 is great, and has a crisp clearness.
  • Cons: It has very poor durability. Breaks way to easily. It is hard to work with Kodak!!!!

Great price, great product

  • Summary: I compared options with price on several camera's and read the reviews on each one and am happy to say that I chose this camera. I have taken several pictures as well as video and everything turned out great. You will have to buy a memory card because the internal memory doesn't hold very many pictures but all in all, a great purchase.

Poor picture quality-too much noise

Paul, Abes of Maine
26 March 2010
  • Summary: Since I lost our Canon film camera and the rest of the world has digital cameras, I thought I would give this camera a try. After a lengthy learning process I can say one thing-Surely the picture quality on all digital cameras can't be as bad as this one. Way too much noise in the images. Picture quality is everything in a camera and this one is a dog. Spend more money or do something different.
  • Pros: Short Lag Time
  • Cons: Poor Image Quality

Blurry, Blurry, Blurry

rgonza49, J&R

  • Summary: I ordered this as an upgrade from my previous Kodak camera. Mainly b/c of its powerful zoom. The zoom was great, except, the majority of pictures taken with AND without the zoom were blurry. I've tried numerous settings all with the same outcome. Disapointing! I can understand one or two pictures that are not clear but nearly all of them? Very rarely happened with my old Kodak. Sorry to say, this camera went back...
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD
  • Cons: Poor Image Quality, Poor Image Stabilization
