Excerpt: I bought this camera in the fall 2010 for my dad because he wanted something bigger for his hands and something very easy to use. The Kodak-EasyShare Z915 was a waste of money. I read reviews about it before I bought it and decided to buy it based on the positive reviews. The two complaints about the camera were the battery life and the slowness of taking pictures. I informed my dad of this but we went and bought it anyway. We have not had any trouble with the battery.
Summary: First, let me state that I did not purchase this product from Amazon. Now, let me say that the image quality of this camera is the worst. Initially, I had a focus problem - and had to send it to Kodak repair(what a joke) twice to "repair" that problem. Each time that cost me at least $10. The image is "thin", meaning that it has no "body" or depth that can be manipulated with a image editor except in the slightest(and I do mean slightest) way.
Summary: I bought this after my girls let my 2 year old niece play with my old camera. (On a side note, I wish I just bought the same exact one- it was a Canon and now I can't remember which one unfortunately. It was under $100 and took the BEST pics ever. I had a cashier double check that the photo I was making copies of wasn't a professional one. I could kick myself!) I saw the reviews of this and the great price and ordered it.
Summary: BEWARE of this camera. I do not recommend it. The software was loaded on 2 different computers, the supposedly "easy" Users Manual 3 steps were followed; different persons worked at it for hours and hours over several days and no one was ever able to download a single picture. Finally a small red button located on the back and labeled "share" was pushed and the pictures could be unloaded.
Summary: I bought this camera on Black Friday 2010 last year, got a great deal. I did research before my purchase and I got the impression this was a great point and shoot camera, which is exactly what I wanted. I never thought it took good pictures, most of them were grainy. I called and talked to Kodak customer service & they said the only way to get better pics was to manually focus it every time, and mess with the settings, which is great if you are into photography, not so...
Summary: This camera was purchased in July of 2010. I was very pleased with it. The battery life seemed short but keeping extra batteries charged was not a huge problem. The time delay between photos was a bit of a nuisance but again, not a huge problem. However, two days ago, in the middle of taking photos, the camera suddenly flashed a "insufficient media storage" message or something similar and then just turned off! The lens is still extended.
Summary: I loved this camera, but the flash quit working in about 9 months. Unfortunately, I received as a gift and don't have a receipt-- WARNING: Kodak does not honor warranties without a receipt. Now, I have a daylight camera with no flash. I will not every buy another Kodak product because of this.
Summary: First of all I want to preface by noting that the camera does take amazing photographs. For the price and the super plain exterior I was pleasantly surprised at how well it operates. However I just recently upgraded my Mac to OS 10.6.5 Snow Leapord and now the Easyshare software crashes before it even opens a window. iPhoto recognizes when videos are on the camera, but crashes when trying to import videos.
Summary: I got this as a gift for myself becuase my camera broke and I have two kids that I can't stand not taking pictures of. It worked for less than a day. I was going to return it but I was unable to get to the post office in time to have it back by the specific return date. So here it sits in a box not getting any use. Huge waste of $100.00 :( Sadly Amazon is not useful when it comes to customer Service.
