Summary: I was excited when I purchased this camera.. 12 megapixels, optical zoom! I bought it in September 2007. And it was treated so very well..no dropping, no nothing, hardly used it.. In September 2008, it started to freeze and die. Fresh batteries didn't help. Sometimes it turned on, sometimes not. Now it is permanently opened..the lens extended..and it will not turn on.
Summary: Camera was fine but had 2 serious problems: 1. taking photos in full sunshine w/o flash, every 3 shots or so the screen would say "Processing ..." and it would not take another photo for 10-15 seconds! 2. Tha battery life was terrible. Two fresh akalines got me less than 60 shots in full-sun with no flash and the LCD on for less than an hour total. I returned the camera and got a comparable Canon which I love.
Maybe an alright camera - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Summary: I bought this camera as our 2nd digital to backup our older Nikon. The "Easy Share" was advertised as having a better zoom than most, was small and reasonably priced, and the selling point -- easy to share photos with the internet, and others. However, I had a lot of problems getting it to transfer pictures to the computer - and really was appalled at the complete lack of help from the customer service.
Summary: This camera was a Christmas present for my wife and she was so excited. Even had good results for first 50 pics. Then it started. Batteries, batteries and more batteries to finish up Christmas Eve. What a disappointment. Have to send back to Amazon (I THINK AMAZON IS THE ONLY PLACE FOR ONLINE SHOPPING. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GODOD THINGS.) PS We used 12 batteries on Christmas Eve and even bought a charger and rechargeable batteries. These did not last any longer.
Summary: As a longtime Kodak Camera user, I had big hopes for this product, especially after reading all the reviews. It was either this or a Canon Sureshot but I went with the Kodak because I'm familiar with Kodak's layout and general functionality. The Z1285 looks cheap but I was buying for function, not appearance, so I didn't let that stop me. After purchase, I began testing it out -- indoors, outdoors, in the dark, at the beach, close up.
Summary: I have had several Easyshares. I got this one hoping fo better results, BUT its like the others. These take terrible low-light pictures, terrible macro-pictures, terrible back-lit pictures. If you go to a concert don't even THINK about taking this camera, you'll be highly disapointed. It does take VERY GOOD pictures in daylight or in situations where it is well lit and the target is stationary. Ease of use, battery life, and downloading are all excellent, 5 out of 5.
Summary: I bought this camera for my daughter's birthday in May 2008 in the USA. It was a great hit. It seemed to be in constant use without any problems at all, but then this February (2009) we were again in the States when the camera fritzed. The lens froze in position and would not retract even when switched off, the rear screen also went black.
