Summary: i didn't buy this from Amazon...but, had to write a review to tell people to stay away! i've never owned such junk in my life. in the first week or two, it worked great...albeit, pictures are grainy. as well, if you're shooting video..
High pixel density and a small sensor create much noise

Summary: An axiom of digital photography is that it takes a certain number of photons per each pixel of a digital camera's sensor to obtain noise-free pictures. As pixel density goes up, so must sensor size unless you are willing to put up with greatly increased noise or greatly increased shutter times.
Summary: I have purchased two of these cameras, in hopes of the second one working better than the first. They both had the exact same problem! They will not even stay on, the screen is constantly black! Sometimes I can take about 5 pictures & then it goes black & I have to replace the batteries.
Summary: I am sorry to have taken so long to write this review. I have had the Kodak Z1285 camera for about 6 months now. This camera has angered me so much, that I finally had to sit down and warn others of its absolutely terrible performance.
Summary: I had this camera for about 6 months when it went on the fritz - same problem several users have mentioned - the lens freezes when it zooms and won't turn back on. Sent it back to the Kodak repair subcontractor twice with no results. My 5 MP Kodak was great - but no more Kodaks for me.
Summary: I"ve had to return my camera twice the camer get's stuck with the zoom out and then does not power on! Kodak just keeps saying that they will repair and send it back or send me another camera and when I sent it back the first time I got new camera back and it did the same thing when i called kodak...
Summary: This was my third EasyShare camera and was completely unsatisfied. Took great pictures during the day, sharp and clear. Night time and low light pictures were horrible especially when zooming. Returned it ann went with Canon, less MP and zoom but takes awesome pictures at anytime of the day...
Excerpt: We wanted a second camera, something to fit in our pocket without falling out and take good quality shots. We read up on many competative models and bought the Z1285. The video auto focus was noisey and clunked on the first one so we exchanged it and this one is fine.
Pros: Quality, price, size, features, video.
Cons: no close macro. Software a little complicated with to much bling.
Summary: I bought this camera for my daughter's birthdayin Nov2007 she had trouble with finding the right batteries.... also camera temperamental sometimes shut down completely.Left it with me at Christmas 2008 couldnt get it to work at all.
