Summary: Purchased this Kodak M580 a couple years before Kodak filed bankruptcy in 2012, and got it specifically for our son & daughter to take to camp. Summary: I bought this exact camera to replace another Kodak digital camera that the shutter button quit working on. It was more like a DSLR with a 10x zoom and more bulky casing. About a year later I lost my first M580. I was happy to find this one on Amazon. The 8x zoom is pretty good for the price point.
Summary: I don't know what everyone's issue with camera quality is, this camera takes some pretty nice shots, and even better ones if you know how to tweak your settings for what you're shooting. Also, this camera has an IR trigger port, but it's on the back?
Summary: I've had this camera for about 4 months now. It's very easy to use, small enough to carry in a pocket, but large enough to make it easy to hold. Pictures turn out just fine - and I don't have real steady hands. The 8X zoom at this price is a nice feature.
Summary: This camera is great for the price due to it having a HDMI outlet. To prevent the freezing problem, you can go to the KODAK site and download a program to the camera which does prevent the freezing, just google m580 freezing firmware update and you can get the firmware update.
