Excerpt: I ordered the first M 580 from Kodak and had to send it back as it froze on me. Because of the reviews I ordered it through QVC and got a better price but once again, the camera froze I am not sure what happened. I am tech savvy...
Excerpt: I received this digital camera as a Christmas present a year or two ago when I was leaving for a study abroad program in Europe. I understand why my mother bought it, as it was right under a hundred dollars at Wal-Mart, but she also does not know much about electronics. It does what it is supposed to do, of course, but the pictures are very low quality for this day and age. It is extremely user-friendly and has zoom and flash features, but not much else.
Summary: I purchased this camera in December of last year and have had nothing but problems with it. First problem, camera wouldn't turn on because the battery did not press up against the sensors tight enough. Second problem, the zoom lens would catch and not extend or retract properly. Finally the thing went belly up while on vacation- when taking a picture everything was simply black; no image could even be seen through the display.
Summary: Picked up this camera from the store few days ago and first it took good pictures and Video and some of the pictures were as sharp as my expensive Sony camera. Yes, the bottons are small and flush with the rest of the camera and you have to search for them or actualy look to see if your fingure is on the correct button or not, but I thought the overall quality to value ratio is good.
Summary: The features on this camera are impressive for it's size and price, however, a lot of the features don't live up to the description. Such as, all of the low-light modes result in grainy shots and the sunset mode paints a yellow band above the horizon regardless of what color is actually there. As is true with just about every Kodak point-and-shoot, the best photos are those taken in bright sunlight with the sun at your back. This camera doesn't handle glare.
Summary: I was excited when I bought this camera because it was a Kodak and I've had good luck with them in the past. When I received this camera and started to use it I was disappointed from the start! I would go to view a picture I had JUST TAKEN and it would say "unrecognized file format". I would have to take the battery out and put it back in for it to recognize the picture. Also it froze up a number of times so again I had to take the battery out and put it back in.
Excerpt: Its hard to figure out what button is for what the picture quality isn't the greatest and its hard to get a clear bright picture. Also I had it a year and thought the battery went so I got a new one which is pretty costly . It still didn't work right so I purchased a cord that didn't help either finally its just plain dead won't come on at all. Over priced piece of junk I would never recommend to any one.
