Excerpt: Daughter's first digital camera was this unit. Glad we didn't have much invested in this - did not hold up too well! Save a few more dollars and invest in another brand of digital. Sorry - Kodak - we usually like your stuff!
Excerpt: I rated this camera a 3 but I think 3 1/2 is probably a better rating. I bought this camera after an older Kodak Easyshare of mine broke right before vacation this past Christmas. I bought this the day before the trip and didn't have much time to get the hang of it before we left for vacation. It didn't matter because it's relatively easy to learn. I took hundreds of pictures of our trip, lots of them in snow and MOST of the pictures turned out fantastic.
Excerpt: OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS CAMERA BUT.....They make it seem like you don't have to go on the internet in order to use the share button. That is the main reason I wanted to get the camera. It was a Christmas present so when I opened up the box and realized that you still have to connect the camera to a computer I was not too happy.
Excerpt: I have this camera, and while it takes pretty good pictures - there are always a few pictures that show up on the computer as "unrecognized file format" - and it always seems to be the one picture you don't want to lose! I don't know why this happens, but have gotten into the habit of double checking to make sure they're all there. It is very lightweight, fits in your pocket and the battery life is terrific. I love to take pictures and have a camera everywhere I go!
Kodak Easyshare M550 Digital Camera is a solid starter!

Excerpt: I love this camera! I am not a photographic expert , but I find that this camera makes me look like I know what I'm doing! I have taken this on vacation and can not only take excellent pictures without having to mess with lenses or settings, but I can instantly send them back home with a netbook and a wifi hotspot. This makes sharing vacation pics with family and friends easy and fast!
Summary: Good price for an average camera. This is my 4th Kodak digital camera. They do not last long but provide a good price for a easy to use camera. I buy the kodak so I can still use the SD card from old camera. The battery lasts quite well, but I bought a spare for a big picture taking day on vacations.
The Kodak EasyShare is a fine camera if you don't use it often.

Excerpt: The Kodak EasyShare is a fine camera if you don't use it often. It takes good photos but it is very slow compared to other cameras at storing the photos. The fact that it doesn't take lithium ion batteries is a problem for me, I feel like carrying around AA batteries is tacky and inconvenient. I would not highly suggest this camera.
