Not so good

Grace, Amazon
1 February 2014
  • Summary: This camera is really cruddy in my opinion... I recieved it 5 years ago as a birthday present. It has bad battery life, and you have to take several pictures to actually get a good one. It is not something that I would use for events where you have to catch things in action or you don't have 4 minutes to take 10 pictures and get 1 good one. It's blurry, usually, and doesn't deal with shaky hands very well.

Overall, not a good value.

  • Pros: Fairly intuitive and easy to use. For this price range, the zoom is excellent and the video sound quality is impressive. LCD is bright and usable.
  • Cons: This camera will only take acceptable-to-good photos in daylight. Low light performance is noisy and very poor--virtually unusable, I would argue. Also, autofocus is slow and unreliable. It is very difficult to take decent photos with this camera.

Not a good camera

Latha Rangarajan, Amazon

  • Summary: Bought this camera 15 months back, worked well for sometime. Have never dropped the camera but when you use the zoom feature the camera shuts off. Battery dies very quickly. I have not been able to figure out why the camera lens has been out, can never shut it off, it is stuck. Please do not buy this camera, even if you get it for a good deal.

  • Summary: I HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT KODAK BRANDS AND NEVER HAD PROBLEMS UNTIL I BOUGHT THIS CAMRA. IT STARTED OUT FINE BUT WITHIN A MONTH I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS, THE PICTURES WERE COMING OUT BLURRY, GRAINY AND SOMETIMES ONLY HALF OF A PICTURE CAME OUT. THE PICS WERE NO GOOD. ALSO WHEN YOU USE THE ZOOM FEATURE THE CAMRA JUST SHUTS OFF. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMRA. I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH KODAK PRODUCTS!

Find Another Camera

Dale Farris "Camera Kid", Amazon

  • Summary: I biggest problem I had with this camera was the blur in half the pictures that I took, whether I was inside or outside. When the picture came out nice, I was happy with the quality. But over half of them didn't, and for the time that I've had this camera and the pictures that I took of my kids, most of the pictures are garbage and worthless. I sold a perfectly working Canon to get this camera.

Not worth it!

Disenchanted, Amazon

  • Summary: The HD video quality on this camera is superb, but that is probably the only thing going for it. Still images often turn out warped, and it has trouble taking pictures in either dim lighting or when it's bright outside. In other words the indoor pictures will often turn out blurry or the photos outside in bright sunlight look like the camera has been pointed directly into the sun.

why change!!???

  • Summary: Do not buy this camera!!! The steady shot is horrible, you have to be a tripod to take a steady picture in any mode. With the Kodak easy share system you could charge the battery from the computer with the usb, no longer. The adapter has to be plugged into a wall outlet via usb to the camera to charge now. Auto date format is no longer there, you have to manually put the date in every picture, and once it on you can't take it off the picture.

Very disappointed in Kodak right now

Amazon Customer "happy mom", Amazon

  • Summary: I was always a big fan of Kodak until we purchased this camera. I have a 2 year old son and need something that will keep up with his quick moves. After a week of using this camera, I decided to return it. More than half of the pictures we took were incredibly grainy and blurry. Some were excellent, but I don't want a camera that gives me good pictures only half the time. I returned it today and purchased the Canon 1200IS and am so happy with it.
