12.4 megapixels
The Kodak EasyShare M381 combines a twelve megapixel 1/2.3"-type CCD imager and a Kodak-branded 5x optical zoom lens with a 35 - 175mm equivalent focal range, a moderate wide angle to a useful telephoto. There's no true mechanical image stabilization to help fight camera shake at the longer focal lengths, with Kodak instead opting only for software-based blur reduction. Read more
The Kodak EasyShare M381 is a 12.2-megapixel digital camera with a 5x optical zoom lens, and reviews say it is a reasonably good deal for novices. Like most sub-$200 point-and-shoots, the Kodak EasyShare M381 is easy to use and delivers decent images in good light, reviewers say. It has some advantages over cheaper Kodak models like the Kodak EasyShare C180, such as a 3-inch LCD display screen and a rechargeable battery (Lithium-ion). Read more

Absolutely the worst digital camera you will ever buy....went from an Kodak Easyshare 4530 with only 5.0 mp to this suppossedly better M381 with 12 mp and hate myself for doing so. The first camera with lower megapixels took far better shots...unfortunately I got it wet on Splash Mountain at Disneyworld and had to get a new one. Read more
I have had this camera for 10 months and have taken over 1500 pictures with it. Too many pictures turn up out of focus, so I reviewed the skimpy manual and set the focusand the light meter to the center of the screen brackets. This improved the function of the camera somewhat, but I still get too many out of focus and light problems. Read more
I loved this camera until it died on me. It lasted for about a few months. The battery stopped charging. Even after purchasing a new battery and a new charger, the camera still would not turn on. Apparently, this is a very common problem for this camera. I would not recommend this to anyone and have definitely lost faith in Kodak. I will never buy another Kodak. Read more
This camera was used to replace a broken one. The price was good, would have cost more to repair our other camera. I would have liked more color choices for the outside of the camera. I was looking for an identical match but only black was available. Read more

I've read mixed reviews about this model camera both on this site and others. I thought that if there was a problem with this camera, I would return it. My experience since I purchased the Kodak M381 in May 2010 has been exceptional. This camera's only flaw is that when taking pictures in a bright light, the display screen has some blue colored vertical stripes. This does not effect photo quality. Just a display issue. Read more

Went from Kodak V530 to M381. Have always downloaded from dock to Kodak software and my Adobe Photoshop with no problem. I like to use Adobe as all my picture are in there in specified groups. M381 will not download to Adobe. I can't get my computer to recognize the camera but it never did my 530 either but still worked fine. Appreciate any ideas. This camera is a hassle so far. Thanks..
