The M381 is a digital camera that supports a 1/2.3-inch. CCD sensor with 12.7MP (4164×3050) resolution and features a 5X optical zoom/5X continuous digital zoom KODAK AF 5X Optical Aspheric Lens with 35–175 mm (35mm equiv.) focal length and f/3.0–4.8 aperture value. This lens is protected by a built-in mechanical lens cover. The M381 supports a 3.0-inch indoor/outdoor color display (230K), 32MB internal memory with SD/SDHC card expansion slot, TTL-AF focusing system, a focus range of 0.9 m–infinity (wide)/0.9–infinity (tele), ISO sensitivity up to 1600, white balance adjustments, built-in flash with a range of 0.6–3.2 m at wide (ISO 200) and 0.9–2.0 m at tele (ISO 200), self timer, Face detection, and a variety of shooting modes and scene modes. It supports JPEG/EXIF v2.21 up to a resolution of 11.8MP (3968×2976) at 4:3 aspect ratio, KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology, crop, copy, add date stamp capability, QuickTime Motion JPEG video capture with audio recording at VGA (640×480) at 30fps or QVGA (320×240) at 30fps; and allows users to customize settings like share button, LCD brightness, image storage, set tag, red-eye reduction, quickview, orientation sensor, camera sound, sound volume, date & time, video out and language. The camera can be powered by a rechargeable battery, 5V AC adapter inlet on camera, USB cable or USB/AC adapter (in-camera charging), measures 100.9×59.5×20.0 mm and weighs 133g.

Features

The M381 features Blur reduction capability on camera shake, subject movement, or fast-action situations and automatically minimize the effects of camera shake. The 12MP output allows users to print up to a size of 76×102cm. It features intelligent capture control which automatically sets camera settings including exposure, focus and ISO for clear, sharp pictures even in low light and challenging situations; intelligent image processing which reduces noise and clears up dark shadows; HD picture capture in 16:9 format and allows users to view pictures in high definition on an HDTV or other HD devices; Face detection technology that locates faces and automatically adjusts camera settings for great shots of friends and family; High ISO mode that allows users to capture images in low-light conditions and fast-action situations; Multimedia slideshow, Scene modes and on-camera picture enhancing features, Text tagging which facilitates on-camera find and organize search, and one button upload via Share button that lets users upload and share favorite pictures and videos to YouTube™ and KODAK Gallery via the KODAK EASYSHARE Software.

    I have been shooting pictures for over thirty years as a professional Photographer and have found this to be an excellent point and shoot. The features and mechanics make this a very remarkable camera. Most prople are unaware that this is the company that makes the image sensors for most digital cameras and has an exclusive manlor with NASA/LRO.
