Excerpt: After I lost my more expensive camera, I decided to downgrade a bit. I didn’t want to spend as much money and was hoping to get a camera that would take good pictures without the high cost. I found the Kodak Easy Share M380 Camera at Walmart for $159.95. …
Summary: We selected this for our eight year old niece after a reading reviews at Amazon and a travel magazine. The travel magazine rated it as one of the best digital cameras to purchase for eight year olds. In a couple Amazon reviews, there were some knocks against it when purchasing for children.
Summary: I purchased this camera for my 11 year old granddaughter. It was here faster than I expected. She was thrilled when she opened it. Started taking pictures of everyone immediately. Hasn't put it down.
Summary: We had an Easyshare C875 that was great. We discovered the video mode was great quality. Not the M380. When you are in video mode it uses an optical zoom which means when you zoom in and out in video mode the frame jumps rather than having a smooth zoom in and out.
Summary: The camera is easy to use. I took it on a long trip and it became an extension of my arm, it was so intuitive. The only thing I don't like is the degree to which the uploading of photos is tied to the Kodak software. It's a major undertaking to import the photos into Picassa instead of EasyShare.
