Entry Level Camera....

Summary: I received this camera as a present and have been using it for about two years now. From the moment I set eyes on it I decided to replace it with something better! The chrome and body finish on it is rubbish - all lumpy and mismatched - the paint looks as if its been applied with a brick! The buttons and controls are cheap looking and feel as if they are about to break at any minute.
Summary: Unless you are needing an extremely basic camera that takes pretty poor quality photos, I would not recommend buying this product. I've only had it about 7 months and am already considering tossing it in the trash. The pictures, even when taken in the higher megapixels, come out really blurry and the coloring is drab. It takes semi-decent movies, but when you try to zoom in, it makes a clicking noise which is heard when you re-play the movie.
Summary: This camera is small, easy to carry and good for regular normal pictures. Video and sound does work well. The zoom resolution breaks down to large square pixels without clarity or definition. I lost valuable video events because of using the zoom option. Even at the highest pixel resolution you couldn't see what you were shooting. Zoom still shots are totally distorted. If you want normal pics this camera will work. i'd never buy it again.
Summary: I had a kodak easyshare LS743 and loved it. It was my first digital camera. It took great pictures, processed quickly, and took amazing videos. I dropped 100 times and it held up (I have 3 kids). The only reason I wanted to replace it was because I knew it was time to get more megapixels and upgrade the lcd screen. I bought this camera thinking it would have the same qualities. I was wrong. The picture somehow has worse quality with 10.2 megapixel than my 4.0.
Excerpt: I brought this camera when it was on offer, and got a very good deal on it. admittedly thats what drew me in, rather than the specification. But on reflection i believe that this is a good camera. As mentioned before the picture quality isnt great in certain situations (i had quite a few problems with it on holiday with the changing brightness) but i found that you just needed to have it on the correct setting, with the correct flash function, and then it produced good...
Excerpt: I like Canon cameras, I have to state that first of all, so my comparisons will be made to my 'main' camera which is an Ixus 980. I recently took a weeks leave from work and headed to the South to spend some time with the human I refer to as the maleshape or Mr Scuba, this as I am female meant I was frantically packing at 6am before my 7.45am train, and as a result of grabbing my camera bag on the way out the door I then proceeded to leave it in my Dads car when he...
Excerpt: I bought the M1073 IS about 6 months ago. It has 10.2 megal pixels and is very light and compact. It has a big range of picture options including setting for taking pictures of Children, Snow, Beach, Sport and Panoramic. The picture quality is good when the pictures are taken during the day but I found when trying to take pictures of my son indoors that I had to be very near him as, although the flash seems quite bright, the pictures come out very dark which is a real...
