Summary: I gave this 2 stars because it does take pictures, sometimes. I had reservations about buying a Kodak product but it was a gift for my daughter. It seemed easy to use and it was small and light. I thought the facial recognition feature would help her learn how to aim, but it is more frustrating than helpful. Unfortunately the zoom lens does not always retract, and I go through batteries like water. The expensive ones.
Summary: I've bought this camera for my 12 year-old daughter to go out on a school explorers day, and as well for my 6 year-old daughter. I must confess that I am amazed with how easy is to get good pictures with it. For sure you cannot compare them with other, higher price cameras, but its focus is fast, the Smart Capture is amazingly effective and the startup time to get that instant shot is pretty fast. The operation is very intuitive.
Summary: I wouldn't use this camera if you paid me to. Indeed, I was literally paid to use this camera for work, and experienced not one satisfactory moment with it. It seems to take passable photos, once you can figure out its nonsensical user interface, but good luck loading these pictures onto your computer. I'm a mac user, and maybe the experience is different for PC users, but I highly doubt it.
