Summary: I dreaded replacing my old HP R607 that I had grown so accustomed to using for my eBay listings...I am technoligically impaired and broke most of the time, LOL, so I didn't want something over my head. Even at just 7.2mp, the picture quality is great and there are plenty of features for the casual user. HP improved upon the R607 by making the R827's battery compartment easier to access and the view screen is so much bigger for my old eyeballs.
Summary: I bought this camera because I already had a cannon that broke, diff model but still a cannon. I have found that not all cannon's are the same. This unit is of good size but not the picture quality, the picture is blurry and hazy. The zoom feature goes in and out while attempting to take a picture.
Summary: The camera is ok but the problem is it is not effective in night. One bad feature of this camera is that if it is switched off the last settings are not saved. The default settings are restored and this becomes very irritating at times as one has to keep doing this exercise again and again. My camera lens has anyway spoiled as a small dark spot is seen in the middle of each photo.Well I would not recommend HP cameras to anyone. In my opinion Sony Cybershot is authentic.
Summary: Very satisfied with the camera, But it does not fit the insert adapter on my docking device, and Amazon could not find one.[ HP Photosmart R-series docking device] My insert fits the R-817 camera...If anyone has the insert I need, or needs the insert I have let me know...
Summary: I used this camera for family photos and obtained really good results, the camera combined with the software provided produced good quality photos, excellent on-screen presentation and great prints.
