Summary: I love this little camera ! great feaures and a nice big screen plus it's the easiest camera to operate I have never had to pick up the instruction booklet to figure anything out I like it so much I purchased 3 more for all my daugthers
Summary: I bought this camera about 6 years ago for something to get me by until I could afford a "nicer" camera, but the camera was built to last. It was easy to use, pictures went easily to my laptop, and it took a good beating. The battery I bought with the camera at the time was the Lithium ion battery which I think had great life, and still does.
Summary: I've had this camera for 3 years now and have never had a problem. I am seeking to upgrade due to being able to get more pixels for cheap. Very sad HP no longer makes cameras. This camera has traveled everywhere with me. He lives in my purse from day to day and has been great through it all. My camera is still in great condition. Any reviews saying they broke or the lens froze-that happens with every camera.
Summary: I had this camera for @ a year when the lens suddenly wouldn't retract. I tried troubleshooting as recommended on the hp site. The problem was not resolved. I then made a phone call to hp. They were only willing to support my problem with a fee. I declined. HP has a very disappointed customer.
Summary: My daughter has had two of these cameras. Both broke within two months. HP replaced both but since camera is now discontinued, I am not surprised it has been phased out. Go elsewhere for a point and shoot.
Summary: I purchased the R742 about two months ago, the red version. The color is very nice (it's not a magenta red like the pictures may show). The camera color doesn't matter that much though, so let's get to the real issues. Photo quality is quite good, I have no problems with graininess, lines, color issues, etc. As far as this is concerned, it is exactly what I would expect from a camera in this price bracket ($0-$250).
