Summary: I have not yet used the camera. The main problem with me is that I am not really tech informed. There are no instructions as to how to operate this camera. The manual seems to assume you know what all the icons are for and doesn't explain when and how to use them. It just tells what they stand for. I would like to see a video explaining in detail on how to get the best pictures or personal effects. This may be a great camera.
Summary: I like this camera so much but then I had to return it. The zoom got stuck out and wouldn't retract unless I turned the camera off. I have the General Imaging X500 and was looking forward to the upgrade. I've kept the X500 and continue to enjoy it. I would wait until this camera is on the market for a bit. I had several shots that had washed out backgrounds with no reason. I know that this company is capable of making a good camera but this one isn't perfected.
Summary: The first GE 500 I had would lock up when i tried using the video mode. The second one was slow and took a horrible picture half the time. Plus it was bulky. If you want a decent camera spend the $$ on a D-SLR if you want to get into photography. If your looking for a general camera get a decent point and shoot.
