Excerpt: I purchased the X100S looking for a digital rangefinder experience. Despite its strengths, I was disappointed in this respect. The body feels too plastic and light, almost like a toy camera. Maybe that's why it has a tendency to heat as an I-Phone or a Macbook pro. All in all, it feels more like a computer product than a camera. Shutter delay was inacceptable to me.
Pros: Great Resolution
Cons: Complicated Controls, Lag / Shutter Delay, Poor in Low Light, Short Battery Life
Summary: I tried this camera for a couple of days and decided to send it back. On a positve note I loved the looks and feel of the unit. The jpeg quality was good, but raw didn't work out for me. I couldn't load it in CS5. The main reason for the rejection was the auto focus. I had to wait for the green light to come on and by that time there was camera movement on my part. If this was faster I would have kept the x100. The other major problem was framing.
Unbelievably bad focus system cripples this otherwise brilliant camera

Summary: I waited for this camera for an entire year, since the concept camera came out last September. If ever there should be a "fan boy" of the x100, it SHOULD be me, but sadly it is not. Ill point out who I think this camera is for, and who it is NOT for. There are literally thousands of reviews that all highlight the same awesome traits about this camera which are all pretty much spot on, so I wont waste any one's time reiterating them in detail.
Summary: Beautiful compact body. Large APS-C sized sensor with outstanding low-light performance and class-leading DxOMark score. Fast f2.0 lens from top-tier lens manufacturer. Innovative optical/electronic view finder. Favorable initial reviews from trusted sources like Luminous Landscape. Could this be the perfect carry-everywhere camera? I could not resist any longer and was fortunate enough to get one from the first batch of Amazon orders. WOOO HOOO!!!!!
Summary: I read all the glowing reviews and bought the X100s camera kit at the beginning of the year. I'm a professional photographer and this was going to fill a gap in my collection, giving me something small that I could always have with me, and that produced pro quality pictures. Amazon warned that I would have to wait several weeks because they were out of stock, and other sellers were saying the same. So I was really pleased when the camera arrived in just a few days.
Summary: I have used this camera a lot and can honestly say that it is really overpriced for what it is. I honestly fail to understand the hype behind these cameras other than a retro feeling which brings the older of us some nostalgia. Firstly they are not small and for the same size you can easily get a small sized SLR.
Hugely over-rated camera that could have been great

Summary: I'm sure like many photographers here I started by reading some of the great reviews of this little camera. I too confess to having been seduced by the PR machine and some previously well trusted reviewers who have all basically been raving about it, so for XMAS 2012, this was my treat.
Summary: Vorneweg: der Chip ist der Hammer.
