Pros: one thing that i really love is the price, it was a great deal at the retail price and now that it's 89 dollars it's a steal. also the camera is very quiet, which is great. i like the easy to use interface and also the advanced features that it has.
Cons: no lens cap or strap. (i knew that buying it so it's no big deal) thats is about it
Summary: After watching my daughter use hers happily for the past year I'm impressed with this particular model. I had tried the Finepix 1000fd offering a few months ago (which was the next step up from the S700) and found it unable to focus in macro mode, a terrible shutter lag.
Pros: A year ago we bought my daughter an S700 and she's loved it. So I wasn't in a quandary if it was the right camera for my wife's needs, because she literally wanted the same features that our daughter's S700 had to offer. All I was hoping for at this price was that everything worked. And it did. I...
Cons: It's only got a 90 day warranty, no lense cap, strap, batteries.
Summary: I like that I can use AA batteries and the LCD screen is a nice size. I had a Minolta 4 megapixel before this unit and I can say that they are almost the same except this has higher rez and costs hundreds less.
Pros: It takes nice pics. Has all the key elements that you would want in a camera without getting too in depth.
Cons: No lens cap or strap which I knew about when I ordered it.
Summary: If you are not a professional or at least an advanced serious amateur, forget the DSLR and save your money. If you don't want the expense of additional lenses and the hassle of changing them, this camera might be for you.
Summary: At the discerning camera review sites, the better quality alternatives suggested are in the 500 to 630 -dollar range, so this S700 remains a fantastic deal.
Pros: Camera arrived in good condition, minus lens cap and neck strap as others have noted. My family has bought two of these from newegg and they work fine. It's a nice full featured zoom camera at an unbeatable (refurb) price. You can get filters, lenses and caps for it cheaply online.
Cons: Assuming it will stand up to normal careful use, none.
Summary: First review on newegg, w00t! I was a little worried that it being a slightly older camera and re-certified it wouldnt be what I was looking for. But if you're into photography, in a non-professional level this camera is perfect. Would recommend it to everyone :D.
Pros: Start off by saying even though I purchased re-certified it works good as new. Takes wonderful pictures! There is a firmware update on Fujifilms site, but its only required if you're using a SD-HC cards.
