Summary: This is my second Fuji camera. I still have the original which works but wanted to upgrade from 4 megapixel to the 16, that tells you how old it is. For a first time shooter it comes out of the box ready to point and shoot and has enough toys "aperture, shutter speed etc." to play with for those more advanced. The software that downloads your pics from the camera is very easy to use and installed with no issues.
Summary: While I am no means an avid photographer, I do take numerous photos in varying light conditions at many different distances. From mere inches to far off shots, this camera has some great quality and focus. The only issue I have had is while using the zoom at near max, the camera does not like to auto-focus. I have had to zoom back out some to let it re-focus and them zoom back in to sort of kick it back into gear.
Summary: I have been using a Fujifilm Finepix A-900 for years and I am used to that size and weight so to me the S-4800 is a bit cumbersome. I recently bought it for myself because of the 30X. I wanted to take some macro shots of jewelry for insurance purposes. I found the manual easy to read and understand (it comes in 3 manuals in 3 different languages)and the camera easy to set up and use.
Summary: I bought this camera in May. 2 months later and with little use the shutter button stopped working properly. Under the terms of Fuji's warranty it has to go to them for repair if possible. I think this is very bad when something stops working after a short time. It is now on its way back to me after being repaired. After such a short time I should have had a replacement or a refund. I contacted Fuji and they were not at all helpful.
Summary: There were no english instructions included. However pleased with the results so far have been good but having the instructions would have enhanced usage. As it is not being used to its full potential.
Summary: Bought this for my daughter as she has a keen interest in photography and has chosen GCSE Photography as one of her options for study next year. She has loved using the camera from the word go as it has some excellent features and she has produced shots good enough to win runner-up prizes in her school competitions.Have not discovered anything negative about the product - and don't expect to!
Pros: Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Simple Controls
