My MX500 - the Battery Monster

plecostru..., Ciao
25 November 2003
  • Excerpt: "I couldnt afford a new camera and after using one of those tiny keyring digi camera this was brilliant. I had priced up a lot of cameras and needed at least £79.99 for the basic one. My friend then kindly lent me his MX500 and now he has a new camera phone I have brought it off him cheaply. The camera is silver and quite bulky compared to the newer ones. I have put mine into a shoulder strap case. He did warn me that it eats batteries (4 x ...

  • Excerpt: "I bought one of these at auction on Ebay. I paid about £95 but this included a 4 and 32mb card. It is very easy to use, and I use standard rechargeable batteries, which last several weeks between charge if you keep the use of the lcd screen to a minimum. Previewing via TV screen is no problem using the video connector supplied. I bought a flashpath floppy disc adapter to transfer files to PC, (I'm still using win 95) which is quite quick. ...
  • Pros: Good quality pictures, easy to use .
  • Cons: No optical telephoto

FUJIFILM MX-500 DIGITAL CAMERA.

kawaljit, Ciao
17 February 2001
  • Excerpt: "This is a very stylish and great looking digi cam. It offers great functionality and comes equipped with a 2 MB smart media card. The MX-500 offers excellent quality as it can take snap shots at over 1.5 million pixels. This I perhaps more than you and I really need, but for the pro’s this is nothing they would require at least 3 million pixels. This cam has red eye reduction, as you would expect from any quality camera. As well as a flash ...
  • Pros: great looks high quality
  • Cons: only a 2mb card

  • Excerpt: "this is a great digi cam, with excellent results. it has 1.5 million pixels which is more than enough. the smart cvard it comes with cannot even hold more than 18 pictures. when i bought it, it was £400, i regret purchasing it. it is easy to use, but also lacks features. the manual it comes with is not very thick. on the back there is a 3 inch screen, which doesnt have a shutter, and can be scratched easily. it does not come witha carry case ...

Fujifilm MX500

Smokey64, Ciao
2 December 2000
  • Excerpt: "I bought my Fujifilm MX500 when myself and my partner purchased a PC. The complete kit consists of the camera, software CD and download cable, including an adaptor for Macs. the camera itself is a self focussing device about 5"x3"x1", and is quite light. It feels a little fragile, but is sturdier than it looks. it comes complete with a 2Mb card, which allows 21 pictures on a normal quality picture, but only 5 on high quality. The set up menu allows ...
  • Pros: Easy to use and getting cheaper by the day
  • Cons: A little limited on the software side .

Good basic camera

globaltru..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: "I chose a Fuji camera because it had been recommended to me. This advice has proved correct , for the price , I paid £250 , it achieves high quality pictures , you would normally have to pay a great deal more for. The major drawback with the camera is the connection to your computer , processing pictures takes about a minute and a half , this can be circumvented by buying a card reader howver. As a good , inexpensive digital camera , I would ...

Good reliable camera

  • Excerpt: "I bought the MX500 camera for a holiday to France. It was on offer at Dixons at the time and recognising the Fuji Name I decided to buy it. The connection to the computer is the basic serial connection which is not the speediest of links, in fact it could have done with being a USB. Downloading off just the 2MB Smartmedia card supplied with it can allow you to make a cup of tea. The other gripe I have with it is the lack of supplied mains power ...
  • Pros: Excellent Quality 1 . 5Mpixel camera
  • Cons: Slow connection  -  No power supply supplied

  • Pros: Gute Grafic
  • Cons: Sehr langsam
