Summary: I bought this camera after reading many reviews commenting about how bad the menu system is and how grainy the night pictures are. Now i have an old Sony Cybershot 3.2 mp... So I thought that the reviews were perhaps overly critical and it could only be a vast improvement on my 8 year old camera. I bought one and have used it for a month and am now looking to sell it second hand. The menu system is frustrating in the least.
Stylish camera that takes "out of focus-like" soft pictures
16 February 2009
Summary: This camera is quite possibly the most stylish camera I have ever seen. Sadly, I like my camera to take great pictures more than look good. Its tiny lens does a poor job at taking a crisp picture. Every picture taken with this camera turned out fuzzy, and soft. Even when edited in Photoshop the image still appeared to have little contrast and to be out of focus.
Summary: The nicest thing I can say about this camera is that it is pretty. It's slippery, has very slow shutter speed, and a low battery life. Hard to figure out, even after reading the manual. Non-intuitive. The internal memory is small, 30 photos and it's full. I used it twice, a basketball game (grainy indoor photos) and a birthday party and today the battery is dead.
Summary: I normally research a lot before making a purchase decision, but this time it wasn't really the case. I wasn't very satisfied with my two-year old Olympus because of the poor quality of low light shots, so I bought this one. My boyfriend had a Fuji and it was a great camera, so I decided to give this one a shot. Big mistake! To make it short, here are the few nice things about it: - face identification feature - auction mode (nice feature, at least in theory.
Summary: I own and have been pleased with a FinePix Z1. I had hoped the Z100 would give me even more capability. Disappointed. The image stabilizer appears to do nothing--may not be working. The extra mega pixels do not give much improvement over the Z1. The instruction manual is quite difficult to understand. To recharge the battery, you have to remove the battery from the camera--a pain. The Z1 has a cradle that recharges as well as used to download photos. Save your money.
Excerpt: "...with this camera at all. Although it looks very nice and flash it just wasn't up to the job. I was bought it as a birthday gift in Nov 08 and didn't get a nice decent photo from it. Had lots of white spots on some photos (dust or orbs - who knows). Had the camera replaced and still did not get very good photos. They were blurred, dull and not very crisp. I tried numerous settings which were pre-stored in the camera and changed the settings manually ...
Summary: I've enjoyed owning this camera for a bit over a year now but the focussing has stopped working for no apparent reason & it wont take pics at all now. Since Fuji want $110 just to look at it its going in the bin & will be replaced with a cheaper camera of another brand.
Pros: Easy to use, small, good, large screen
Cons: Focussing stopped working & cant use at all now.
