Excerpt: This is the worst camera I have ever owned. I find that the item you have put in the AF box at half push turns out out of focus and it takes so long to actually take a picture that the moment has actually passed by the time you have pushed the button to the camera recording the picture. Total junk.
Excerpt: I have purchased this camera So I would not have to carry multiple camera's with me. I read reviews and viewed so called pictures taken with this camera before I spent over 200$ for it. All I got was problem after problem. 1. Shock proof up to 5 feet. Yeah right! This camera fell off a top section of my desk to where my keyboard was. Total 17 inches and it broke. Just 3 weeks after having it so the repair was free. 2. Picture quality is crap. Inside and outside.
Summary: This is the worst point and shoot camera I have ever had. I previously had a Canon Powershot and loved it, you could take pictures anywhere on auto and the pictures were clean and clear. This Fuji doesn't take action shots, night time shots or pictures in low light even if you take it off of auto and set it in the correct mode. I've wasted a whole six months of my life trying to play with the camera instead of taking pictures of my kids birthdays, vacations, etc.
Summary: My father lent me this camera for my honeymoon trip. He had just got it, and never used it. I was so excited to try it. Tested it in the pool worked fine. Took it snorkeling to shoot sea turtles. Appeared to work great, until it said the memory is full. Turned it off, an hour later turned it on and the display screen would not work. Tried it a few more times, but same problem. Of course I look up the reviews, and shocking everyone else had a similar problems.
Summary: I bought this camera twice in one week after losing my Kodak Playsport in the ocean. I bought at Walmart in FL and took to the beach. Pictures were good in light and under fresh water. Terrible night shots. Most importantly, the camera failed completely the first time and continually froze on my second purchase. Way too many other cameras out there.
Summary: Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to read any Amazon reviews before I purchased this model from a local discount retailer...but, like the vast majority of other reviewers, I experienced the same consistant characteristics; locked up within 30 minutes of using it, wouldn't go into shooting mode, buttons unresponsive, etc. This was really disappointing since I'd had another Fuji model (Z33WP) that went to hell and back until it finally sprang a leak.
Summary: I've owned this camera for less than a year and it has been broken twice! That means its been to Fujifilm's repair center in NJ twice! I would not recommend anyone buy the camera - the door to the battery & memory stick compartment is a bad design & is difficult to close/lock. While skiing we took this camera and the door came open & the battery fell out (unbeknown to us) so we captured memories from half of our ski trip.
Summary: I unfortunately made the mistake of buying this camera for my mother and two daughters. My mothers camera door was broken when we took it out of the box. She thought it was to complicated so I returned it a bought another brand. I should have returned the other two. My youngest daughter loved using it it the pool with friends until the battery compartment door opened on its own. I let the camera dry and used rice to absorb moisture. It never worked again.
Summary: I was really excited when I bought this camera. I go snorkeling every year and always wanted one, but didn't want to mess with the underwater casings. Bought mine at Costco at a good price, tried taking a few photos. Maybe there's some inconsistencies with the sensors, because some reviewers say they got great photos. My photos were either grainy or blurry, even under good light conditions. Really, REALLY grainy.
Summary: I purchased this camera for a snorkeling vacation.... it worked fine the first day.. the second day it turned off while underwater.. one minute I was taking photos of a turtle, the next it shut off never to turn back on again. Thinking it was a fluke, I wasted a half a day going to the other side of the island to buy another one..... again, the first day it worked fine, the second day the camera just started clicking through the photos on the card.
