Summary: Its picky!! I live in Hawaii. So I take it into the water. I have to take a bunch of pictures in hopes that at least 1 was not blurry. You cannot see the screen underwater even if you are wearing goggles. So here's hoping you got the shot!!
Summary: Good quality photos and good battery life; easy to use, packs well and is durable. However, there are some significant liabilities. The GPS feature takes forever to find the signal and sucks up battery power. The GPS feature was one of the main reasons for purchasing the camera, but its performance has been disappointing. The lens is unprotected and located such that it's easy to get your finger in a number of shots.
Summary: My bf bought this camera for me for my bday, loved it because it could go underwater and take videos also. Lady at the store advised strongly to rinse the camera under fresh water after exposure to salt water, saying it would rust or corrode the pieces. I had the camera for over a year, took it to the beach with me and camping, was very sturdy. Always make sure the latch to the battery chamber is locked, if there is yellow showing, that means it's still open!
To Antarctica and Back! (And All the places in between)

Summary: I took this camera with me on my adventure to Antarctica simply because it was a reasonably priced, highly rated, freeze proof camera with decent MP and zoom (the other features came as a bonus). Yes it is "freeze proof" only rated to 14F, while I was in much colder temps (-20F), it lasted far longer than anyone else's 'regular' camera battery life.
Summary: I purchased this camera for a recent cruise to the Caribbean. I wanted something I could use to take pictures at the beach and while snorkeling - and not have to worry about it getting wet or sandy. In that sense, it was a pretty good camera. The quality of pictures it takes is not great, but it is pretty good (though at 14 Megapixels you would expect it to take good photos). However, after a week of use, water got into my camera.
Summary: The camera takes good pictures. I don't like having to recharge the battery frequently.I have to remove the battery after I use it to prolong the battery life. I find the instructions are NOT user friendly and would prefer to have them in a booklet not online.
Summary: I bought this camera for my dive trips.... NOT to use in the water, but to take on the boat when it can get splashed occasionally. It works great for this. For those people who think this is an underwater camera... you are idiots. That is NOT what this camera says. It is waterproof in case you drop it in a puddle, or it gets splashed at the pool. Get real people. Underwater cameras cost hundreds more and have an o-ring seal to keep water out. As far as the pictures go...
Summary: As far as being waterproof and having an integrated GPS (two of the main reasons I purchased this camera), it is excellent. Additionally, the picture quality is acceptable. However, it has two major short-comings. First, the camera can be turned on accidentally far too easily (when in a pocket). When I'm on a long mountain climbing trip and battery life is carefully planned, I can't have the camera randomly turning on because it got jostled slightly.
Summary: I haven't tested the underwater capabilities yet, but otherwise the camera works as advertised. The menu options are clear and easy to understand. I do have a couple of complaints though: The GPS seems to take a while to get a lock. (You can continue to shoot, but the photos you take until it gets a lock will not be geo-tagged.) I was disappointed that you cannot charge the battery through the USB connection.
