Summary: OK, this WAS a great camera. But when you pull the camera out of your swim suit pocket after swimming to see that the battery compartment is wide open, it costs 116$ to repair. The latch that keeps water out of the battery/SD card compartment is a silly little sliding latch that opens if it is...
Summary: I bought this for the beach to take fun underwater pics, but thought I could use it for every day life too. I know my way around SLRs, point-and-clicks, cell phone cams etc., and I've never used a camera with more trouble focusing. Very slow menu response, and cheap feel.
Summary: This camera was taken out maybe a total of 3 times before it broke. Took it into the water to take some pictures of my 4 month old baby and it didnt work. Got it into the car and opened the battery case to see if maybe the battery was dead and what do I see............
Worked fine then leaked. Does not appear to be really water tight

Summary: I bought this to film under water for our whirlpool bath product line for a promotion film I was working on. It worked the first two times and then leaked on the third day of use. We were only filming at 19 inches deep and the quality of the video was excellent until the camera flooded.
Summary: I bought this camera specifically for the trip I'm on right now...in Maui. I received it back in mid March and never thought to test it's waterproof capabilities because friends of mine have similar models and rave about their cameras.
Summary: Good camera in theory, but in practice it is a piece of junk. Like other people who have reviewed this product, I can also confirm that this camera is NOT WATERPROOF. The first time I took it into the water (snorkelling) the LCD screen went funny and stopped working.
