Survived a week long trip rafting through the Grand Canyon's Colorado River
2 June 2014
Summary: Went rafting through the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago. We went through Class 10 rapids, rain, and sand storms. I was armed with my GoPro and my XP200 (Yellow is cheaper btw) point and shoot camera. The Camera performed exactly as I expected. The action shots came out great. The optical zoom allows for great close shots of faraway objects and I was able to pull it out, power it on, and shoot pictures on the fly with very little issue. The video looks great too.
Summary: I had some issues with the first camera I received (would shut down on hot days), but the second one is working great. I like the fact that this can take 1080p video (under water as well), and snap stills at the same time without interruption to the video. You have to be very steady when taking video, but they turn out well. Also, a great feature is the WiFi capability.
Summary: Took it on vacation to Mexico and it took great pics snorkeling and also out of the water. One of our tour guides took a picture of us with it and asked if he could buy the camera from us!...he is an avid scuba diver. Very pleased with this purchase!
Summary: Of all the digital cameras that I've owned over the last decade, this one has to be the fastest, sharpest, and most robust of them all. Usually we have a blur rate of 20% on earlier cameras... I'd say this camera is 5% or less -- including underwater shots. Sharp. Simple, and Wife-approved (as primary user).
