Summary: First time I used my first XP it filled with water and I KNOW it was locked. Returned it for a new one and was sent the old one refurbished however the first time I used it bubbles came out all the orffices. Returned it and got a third camera. It has been updated and the locks are different. It works but I was without a camera for 10 months.
Pros: Nice size for underwater photography, Easy to recharge the battery
Pros: Has some cool features. Can take two pics at once, one with flash and one without to see which is better. It takes some pretty good pictures and underwater video was good.
Cons: Terrible battery life. Bought 3 cameras and just over one year later, all 3 batteries have crapped out. They all just stopped taking a charge. The batteries are expensive to replace. The underwater pictures didn't work very well either.
Pros: Pretty water resistant. I never took underwater pics but it has gotten wet several times and I've dropped it several times.
Cons: There's a long 3-4 second delay from the time you press the shutter till it finally takes the picture. I take a lot of action shots so it has been a challenge to use. The picture quality is just OK. The low light performance is pretty bad.
Summary: An inexpensive camera purchased primarily for that reason. It was $100. Carrying a multi thousand dollar DSLR rig to parties isn't always convenient. Plus, having to spend five minutes explaining to someone how to use it to snap a pic that has me in it just isn't always possible. First the description here of the camera indicates some features it doesn't have, particularly GPS. The next model up has the GPS.
Pros: 21 usable modes., Face Detect, Panorama in camera, Image cataloging and sorting features in camera., Can produce good images in unexpected conditions., Several user controllable flash options including OFF!, One-button 'silent mode'!, Offset lens makes one handed operation easier and additionally makes camera easier to hold in some cases., Better than expected movies in both modes (640x480 & 1280x720).
Cons: Battery can be put in backward!, Heavy processing of images in some modes resulting in bad/unusable images., Water protective lens cover glass acts just like a bad filter on a regular camera. Lots of flare and some double imaging when used under certain conditions., Already short Battery life very dependent on use of features including Image Stabilization and Face Detection., Unpredictable image output in some modes or circumstances.
Summary: I bought this camera for my teenage daughter with cerebral palsy. She loves to take pictures, but falls down a lot. We went through several cameras, always buying cheap ones, knowing they'd break. This one is amazing! Couldn't be happier.
Summary: I'm not going to take any Pulitzer Prize winning photographs with this camera, but it worked well enough for a vacation to the beach. Some have criticized it for the hard-to close waterproof latches, but I didn't have any problems with that. I also followed the suggestion of putting a little chap-stik on the seals to make sure to keep the water out. From a water proof perspective, it worked flawlessly, and we have both photos and video from under water on our vacation.
Summary: First off, if I could give this camera zero stars I would. We got this camera as a wedding present to be used on our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. Luckily we packed two cameras, this camera only lasted about an hour. We took it out in the ocean, was under water only about 1 foot and afterwards camera read "card error" and we lost all photos on the memory card. Also water had seeped into the battery compartment and under the flash.
Summary: The camera was purchased for a Christmas gift; therefore, has not been used yet. But, packaging was great and I believe the product is new, so don't expect any difficulties with it. Seller was prompt in sending.
