Excerpt: I did a lot of research before selecting this camera among the various mirrorless options - the Sony NEX/Alpha series being the runner up. I chose the Fujifilm X-E1 because I liked the blend of manual controls and on-screen menus and the ease of toggling between the two. After comparing images on line, I also found that I preferred Fujifilm's color rendering and the multiple film emulations that it offers. I prefer a more filmic look with more natural colors.
Pros: Easily Navigable Menus, Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Intuitive Controls, Intuitive Contros, Small / Compact
Excerpt: I bought this (used) to use as a daily use camera instead of carrying my D800 everywhere. I picked up the 35mm f/1.4 lens because I wanted something faster than the kit lens. I absolutely love it. Granted it can't compete with a monster like the D800, but it is nice having something that I can just grab and not worry about damaging a $ rig. I wish it was a little faster, but I think its a rockin little camera.
Excerpt: This camera makes me want to take it out and shot. It has made photography fun for me again. I got so tired and turned off by carrying my D7100 that at some point I never took it with me anymore. This little guy is light and fun. Not only does it look great, the sensor captures great detail. I keep it set to auto ISO and shoot in aperture priority with beautiful images at ISO 6400. I really enjoy the electronic viewfinder.
Summary: Many good things can be said about this gem. Everything has been said. I really enjoy taking pictures with it. Moreover, the five stars go to Fuji technical support in NJ. They rock! Two weeks before my huge anticipated vacations abroad (with my X-E1 as a main role actor), the flash stopped firing. I called them and after a short evaluation by phone, they ask me to send the camera for flash repair.
Excerpt: After going the DSLR route with Canon and Nikon I switched to Sony Mirrorless cameras. The Nex 6 and then the a6000. While very good, I was introduced to the Fuji. It's image quality is hands down better than any cropped sensor camera I have seen. Plus, it takes me back to my film era days when you had to "think" about how to take your photos and everything wasn't done for you.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
