Summary: I've not really had time to put it through its paces yet, but I have taken some good shots with it and it woes what it says on the tin! A good prosumer camera with awesome wide angle to optical zoom.
Great camera for daytime use - Beware of the dark though!

Summary: I Chose this camera as I wanted a little more than a simple point-n-shoot snapper and I refuse to use my phone as a camera! I have had Fuji cameras before and loved the image quality and I am equally pleased with this one. Pictures are sharp with good colour saturation that leans toward cool. The SL260 offers a wide array of settings for the enthusiastic to play with as well as a 'snapper' mode for easy use.
Not a bad starting point before considering an SLR

Summary: Call me a typical male but I like a camera that feels like a camera rather than an extension of my mobile phone. I've been looking around at an upgrade from my last Fuji camera and as I believe that this brand is one of the best in the bridge and SLR range I was going nowhere else. With the constraints of a wife nearby I found the perfect bridge camera that has the quality and feel of an SLR but with a wife friendly price tag.
Summary: I was really annoyed by how badly this camera performed when handheld in low light (non flash). The pictures are very grainy and difficult to focus regardless of the setting used. Maybe I got a faulty camera, either way it got returned. I've replaced this with the Panasonic Lumix FZ62 Bridge Camera - Black (16.1MP, 24x Optical Zoom) 3 inch LCD, also available at Amazon. Straight out of the box is took perfect photos in low light conditions. Very happy.
Summary: I chose this camera because I wanted my camera to look and feel like a proper SLR camera and not like a pack of cards! Although it looks solid, it is light and fits perfectly into the hand making it a joy to use. With its powerful 26x zoom lens there is no need to carry additional heavy and cumbersome lenses. The zoom is easy to operate from either by the shutter button or a rocker switch on the side of the lens itself.
Awesome camera with everything you'll need and more at a great price!

Summary: So you're considering the Finepix SL260 and doing a bit of research to make sure it's what you need which puts you exactly where I was a short while back - my conclusions mean I've now been happily snapping away with this great camera for a week or so now and I'm not disappointed with my decision.
Summary: I bought the Finepix SL260 as a replacement to my Finepix S3380. The SL260 is a slightly more refined version of my older S3380. The new Lithium battery lasts that little bit longer when taking a large series of pictures and takes no time to fully charge. There are also a huge number of settings and pre shoot modes available but the simplicity to change the shutter speed and aperture meant I was doing it manually most of the time.
