Love of my life.

B. Bui, Amazon
30 October 2009
  • Summary: I've had this camera when it first came out, which was when it was about $600-700, I believe. It's been the love of my life for years. This camera is quite capable of almost all the things that a DSLR can do. It's extremely fast when you turn it on. It's fast at saving photos.

Very good fixed lens camera, 9 mp stills and VGA video

L. G. CHARLOT, Amazon
18 November 2007
  • Summary: When I went shopping for a new high quality digital camera to replace my aging Minolta 7i, I made up a list of features and functions that I wanted: 1. Powered by "AA" batteries. I dislike proprietary battery packs, which generally cost at least 4 times more than a set of four "AA"'s. 2.

Great camera for a great price!

H. F. Walsh, Amazon
18 September 2007
  • Summary: I jumped from a very simple 4 mega pixel Kodak point and shoot digital camera to this SLR like Fugi. I had experience with the Fugi line before using my father's S5200 so I understood the different types of functions and menus. The picture quality on this camera is GREAT!

  • Summary: I ordered this (S9000)just before Xmass and got it in time. No problems with order or delivery and it is as much or even more camera than I had expected. I did add a 2gig fuji card from Best Buy the next day. Would have ordered it with camera but could not figure out how on Amazon order site?

Professional Quality At Home!!!

T. JONES, Amazon
28 November 2006
  • Summary: I had been looking for a great camera, and really wanted something more professional. Like most people the cost of a professional camera got in the way. I researched a couple of cameras and finally decided on this one. I could not believe how beautiful my pictures were.

A good camera to replace your point-n-shoot with!

Anonymous, Newegg
15 November 2006
  • Summary: I was using a Canon A95, which took great photos most of the time, but I soon realized the limitations (having only a 3X optical zoom was one of them). I researched digital cameras for several months before settling on this one.
  • Pros: Excellent choice for someone wishing to go beyond a point -n- shoot camera in digital photography, but does not need or want to change out lenses. The Fujinon lens on this camera is incredible with a very nice 10X optial zoom. One great feature: shoots in RAW or JPEG.
  • Cons: Does take some time and practice to maximize its capabilities and learn the S9000's nice features.

Excellent choice

J. Wells, Amazon
9 November 2006
  • Summary: Great product for people that want more out of their digital camera. Not so easy to operate at the beginning, but learning is quick and the results are extremely satisfying. With a little dedication, you will be able manipulate the secrets of high end photography. Best buy for the buck!

One Fine Camera

Walter M., Newegg
27 October 2006
  • Summary: I use it for everything from pets to mountain views. Does great taking flower shots. I set the color saturation up and the colors are much better. Movies are great. My other camera is an Olympus C-750 and this is just better all around.
  • Pros: This is an excellent camera for most needs. I agree it needs to learned before you will realize it's full value. Nice manual zoom. Clear LCD. Great movies.
  • Cons: Nothing worth talking about. Very minor things.

Finally, a digital camera with mechanical camera smarts

Greg Witt "scriptmonkey", Amazon
26 October 2006
  • Summary: As an early adopter of digital, dating from 1999 and the Agfa ePhoto 1280 and 1680 to the current iteration of the Nikon family, I can attest that this camera is as flexible as any of my film cameras that I use for studio and location work.
