Summary: The video mode is horrible beyond belief. It continually struggles to focus. The focus is totally unreliable. Maybe if you keep it focused on one object it might be able to focus on it and remain in focus. If you use the zoom you may as well forget about it. When you stop zooming, it will struggle to focus on the subject. In my opinion; the video mode is unusable except for something that doesn't really matter.
Don't buy if you normally use the electronic view finder

Summary: Returned the item as the EVF was blurred and it was impossible to see the image clearly. Tried the monitor in the shade and this gave a clear picture but, as usual, doesn't give you a clear image in bright sunlight. Test photos came out clear and sharp. I chose the Finepix HS50EXR instead and it's great.
Summary: I decided to stick with Fuji after owning a Finepix s5500 and always had good results from a camera with what today would be an embarassingly small pixel count (3mpx). I imagined that 16Mpx would give phenomenal results in comparison. Wrong! How Fuji thinks this is acceptable amazes me, even taking the price into account. As others have said, picture quality is woeful, and selecting the fine setting seems to have no effect.
