Summary: I have had a Fuji FinePix S5000 since the mid 2000's, never really had anything even close to a pro camera due to cost. I am not a pro for sure but like to take pctures. Almost died when they took away my Kodachrome 35mm SLR cameras of the 60's, remember Pentax Ashia, etc.
Summary: Purchasing this Fujifilm FinePix was a great solution for my husband. His original camera, identical to this one, was in need of repair which would have cost more than purchasing this camera. It arrived promptly in original packaging and it works great.
Summary: I have two now. There great cameras. To fix send to there factor. Thay do great job fixing . The prices is right. Only think i say is wrong . Is the DX cards there useing for camera are not making no more. Thay have to slots for cards. Other Compack flash work fine.
this camera is really good, and i have gotten my money's worth on it.

Summary: I've had one of these cameras for 7 years now. I have taken tons of pics, and have had great success with it. Learning the manual controls on this were a snap, and it was a fun camera to grow into.
Summary: I just received the camera and used it yesterday...great purchase! The only issue that I had was the batteries. I had a difficult time finding the batteries that were required to get the most out of this camera. I ended up buying a charger and hope that it will work out well for me!
Excerpt: In 9 months that I own the S7000 I've made about 10000 pictures of different style. I love this camera 'cause it's a very flexible robust companion. The more I work, the better I can use all features. Most of all, I use the M-Mode, because it offers shutter speeds down to 1/10000s.
If you can't afford a SLR this is almost as good for a lot less money.

Summary: I've had this for over 5 years. The complains about battery life can usually be traced to using a microdrive or a memory card in an adaptor that doesn't follow full industry spec and continues to draw current when the camera is turned off.
