  • Excerpt: My first experience with a digital camera with face detection that really works, the Finepix S6500fd. I’m not so glad with the xD memory card because it’s more expensive and slower than the SD card. The Fujifilm S6500fd image quality with low light is excellent, and the video quality is also good. The software is not very easy to use.

Fuji FinePix S6000fd/S6500fd Digital Camera

super--power, Ebay
27 February 2010
  • Summary: After much research it was evident that the Fuji S6000fd/S6500fd was by far the most superior camera within my budget, every review was glowing and in all honesty it did not disappoint. Classed as a mid range on the spectrum it is just above a compact and just below a DLSR, the perfect "bridge camera" (between the two).

  • Summary: old school, but still a decent camera. Good for printing up to maybe A3. Good Depth of Field. This is good for beginners to the world of photography, nice and basic. I've used this on a few shoots myself, so it's perfectly capable of producing quality images depending on it's purpose.

Good camera/batteries run down too quick

peter gunion, Amazon

  • Summary: This is a nice camera. However, the rechargeable batteries only last about 5 to 10 mins, and i have tried the best batteries on 3 different times. It seems as soon as you use the camera for 5 mins,it starts flashing low battery. Apart from that,it is a good camera, and takes excellent pictures.

I love it!

  • Summary: Very pleased with purchase and have already taken some great pics. Was slightly worried about the packaging when it arrived as there was rattling about going on inside of it. Turns out it was the batteries escaped from the camera and were rattling around in the box and was dreading opening it as thought would find camera inside broken but glad to say it was actually quite secure in original packaging.

Fuji FinePix S6500 Digital Camera

M. Gwynne, Amazon
6 May 2009
  • Summary: Fuji FinePix S6500 Digital Camera - Black (6.3MP, 10.7x Optical Zoom) 2.5" LCD We bought this as a joint present for our daughter & son-in-law for Christmas. We were so happy with our own Fuji that we bought them the latest model. This is a superb camera - easy to use and takes excellent pictures. It is also very good value for money.

Buy an entry level Canon for a little more instead

C. Wesson "trying to help", Amazon

  • Summary: I rarely write reviews but I've had this camera for a year or so now and feel obliged to point out that I really don't understand how it is so well rated? It is very easy to use and takes some decent snaps but anyone wanting to print any larger than 7"x5" will be somewhat disappointed. Jpeg resolution is quite low and if you view any of your pictures at 100% in Photoshop then you'll see loads of grain (even with a tripod). Images are not particularly crisp either.
