Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd
Summary: An excellent lens that's both wide and long, clean, sharp images, and impressive high ISO performance combine to make the Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd a very attractive package -- especially now the price has dropped so low.
Pros: Wide, sharp lens; high ISO performance; zoom lens ring.
Conclusion: Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd Megazoom camera Although the number of pixels still rises, it appears that, for a number of manufacturers, the real Megapixel race has ended. They seek to distinguish themselves through other affairs now. Instead of more pixels, digital cameras get new functionality to make photographing easier and also qualitatively better. The item of 2007 appears to be, among others, face detection.
Summary: The Fujifilm Finepix S6500fd is a rather strange beast which
ultimately doesn't beat either the ultra-zoom bridge-style
camera competition, or the entry-level DSLRs, but still manages
to be an enjoyable camera to use. Fujifilm are making a big
song and dance about the Face Detection feature, even appending
the acronym "fd" to the model name. It's an effective
addition, making it easier for the beginner to achieve better
Summary: It's difficult to imagine a way to spend £300 and get more for your money than you do with the S6500fd. It's simple to use, the manual lens is flexible and there are some useful features on board. It doesn't handle like a true bridge camera, but then it isn't priced like one either. I bought the S6500fd after my S5600 was stolen while on a trip to South Africa. All I can say is wow, it has served me very well.
Excerpt: Deciding upon the right camera can sometimes be a tricky process. Compact cameras may be small, but they often lack useful features and provide poor optical zooms. Conversely, SLR cameras are expensive and a little intimidating for photographic novices. What many of us need is something in between the two extremes and Fujifilm's brand new S6500fd claims to offer the best of both worlds.
