Pay Attention and Shop Smart ...

Wayne Scott "wayne-san", Amazon
26 December 2003
  • Summary: Okay okay ... You can get this from several Z-shops sellers, starting at $438 (as of 12-26-03). There are some small errors in the description, which you may clear up for yourself at the Fujifilm.com site. But compare this to the S5000, which you can get new, here, for about $340. And if you hunt diligently, today you can grab it for $296. I am not repeat not talking about some auction sight, either.

Great for the price... problem is where the price is...

  • Summary: Honestly, if you can get past the three problems I have with this camera, go out and buy it!! I have taken almost 6,000 pictures in less than a month- it's one of the best! But I have a couple complaints. First, is that it's too slow for it's "class". With a camera this size and with so many features, you would expect faster action than with the pocket-size compact cams. Not so.

Works well in good lighting conditions

MR D R MORGAN, Amazon

  • Summary: Pictures are v good in good lighting conditions - but its a real fiddle to get best quality using some of the programmes. My original S902Z (from 9 years ago) still produces the best quality of any camera of this type I've ever had

The Fujifilm FinePix S602 Zoom

Stoppy, Ciao
15 October 2010
  • Excerpt: "I bought this camera around 2 months ago, as it was quite cheap and I was looking for a entry level DSLR, but as this camera does not have interchangeable lenses it can not be classed as a DSLR, It is also quite an old camera which means it doesn't have as many functions as other cameras but it has many mandatory functions like, Macro, Super-Macro, Auto focus, Manual focus, Flash, Continous shooting, etc, The picture quality isn't great as it is low ...
  • Pros: Cheap, Easy to Use
  • Cons: Low picture quality, Not many functions, Old

Fuji Finepix S602 Zoom Digital Camera

Dragonfly..., Ciao
7 September 2006
  • Excerpt: "I have been using the Fuji Finepix for about 2 years now having taken thousands of photos during that time so the following is based on substantial experience of using this camera. When purchased this camera was supplied with nothing more than the camera, some standard batteries, a 16mb memory card, a strap, lens cover and manual as well as leads to connect to a pc and some software for the PC. As most people tend to do I immediately set up ...
  • Pros: Picture Quality, Feature Rich, Easy to Use, Versatile
  • Cons: Eats standard batteries, No charger or extras included

R.I.P. S602?

Kendra Taylor "pcfriend", Amazon
14 June 2006
  • Summary: I bought one of these two years ago, when 3 mega-pixels was 'high'. Believe me, Fuji's version of 3 Mega pixels is OUTSTANDING, equating with todays 6 mega pixel cameras, because the technology is so much more advanced. The colours, hues, brightness, and contrast are 'right' straight out of the box - you don't need to 'fiddle' later on the PC, and A4 prints are high quality (unless you choose the lowest quality shoot modes).

Great Features

SimbeckP, Ciao
6 November 2005
  • Excerpt: "The Finepix 602 has also some genuinely unusual features, including an amazing 640x480, 30 frames/second motion capture mode, special high-ISO modes (to ISO 1600) that cleverly trade resolution for lower image noise, and a couple of motor-drive modes that really help you capture fleeting moments especially in low light. I have used the 602 for two years now and have been very happy with its performance. I recently took the camera with me to my ...
  • Pros: Compact, Well designed, Easy to use, trouble free
  • Cons: Lens could be better, No power cable as standard

good camera

Amazon
9 September 2004
  • Summary: I bought one of these as my first digital camera and although it was to replace a film SLR I was not willing to pay digital SLR prices. The 602 is a great camera and gives very good results, sharp pictures, good colour, and it is easy to use. The macro is very good. There are only 2 minus points with this camera. First of all it is useless for action shots as when you press the button it takes an age to take the photo. So action shots are pretty much impossible.
