Summary: Bought this camera for a relation who saw the 5700 model i had bought for myself a year earlier. Like me she is not a camera buff, just wants something reliable, works well does what it says on the box and doesn't eat batteries. If this is what you want this camera could be for you. The price from supplier was good, dispatch was quick, secure and well packed.
Summary: I have had 3 problems in 5 months with this camera. 1. SD card got stuck in the camera. It had to be sent back to Fuji to sort out. 2. The flash has stopped working and does not popup like it is supposed to 3. Random problem - The "zoom in" and "turn off" button seems to occasionally get muddled up and switch functions. When this happens the camera gets hot on the bottom and needs time to cool down before it starts working properly again.
Summary: Yes I researched Which, etc before I bought this camera as I have a digital camera already a CANON power shot I do like the Canon...but I wanted more from a camera...The Fujifilm S5800 for the money is very good value..The battery life is really very good..Menu very good and clear..the ISO selection for the money is excellent..The super macro mode I have used with and without a stand again excellent.
Summary: Have really loved using this camera. Even I can manage to use the basic operations, and when time permits, I am going to look at using the finer options. Easy to use. Great that it take rechargeable batteries.

Summary: The camera is very good. The Zoom could be better and I was tempted to get the x18 zoom model, but I was told that the picture was not as good as this machine. Picture wise, this Camera is very good. As good as my old Kodak 5 mega pixel camera of 5-years ago. The only down side with this camera is the practicality of the LCD display which gets easily covered in finger prints due to its prominent position: its hard to keep it clean!
