  • Excerpt: It could be argued that there's less need for bridge cameras now that digital SLRs are so reasonably priced. But when you can pick up a 7MP, 10x zoom compact for less than the price of most standalone flashguns, it's easy to see why they're still around.

  • Excerpt: The Fujifilm FinePix S5700 houses 7.1Mp that will be ideal for A4 prints. It comes with both a 2.5in LCD screen and a digital viewfinder, while the ISO range reaches ISO 1600 - handy for low-light conditions - and if you enjoy taking the occasional video, the S5700 is capable of a 640x480 resolution recording at 30 frames a second. The back of the camera is laid out neatly and although there's no protective screen, the viewing is crisp and clear.

Fujifilm FinePix S5700 review Review

CNET
5 July 2007
  • Summary: The Fujifilm FinePix S5700 (aka S700) would be a good budget superzoom camera if it weren't hampered by mediocre performance and a frustrating design
  • Pros: Low-noise, higher-ISO photos, Broad set of manual controls, Optical zoom operates in movie mode, Runs on AA batteries
  • Cons: Frustrating design, Sluggish performance, No optical image stabilisation

Fujifilm FinePix S5700

CNET
15 June 2007
  • Summary: The Fuji FinePix S5700 is a sturdy, mid-priced camera for those hoping to achieve that greater degree of creative freedom with their photos. However, those shy of undergoing its learning curve may overlook its strengths and possibilities.
  • Pros: Sharp bright-light photos, especially in Macro mode, Lightweight, modern design, Comfortable grip, 10x optical zoom (38 – 380mm equivalent), Accepts both xD and SD memory cards
  • Cons: Maddeningly complex menu system, Dubious battery life, May regret installing the bundled software

Fujifilm FinePix S5700

CNET
18 March 2008
