Conclusion: Here's my rating of the Fujifilm FinePix S5000 Zoom: (3 megapixel compact) The S5000 is a photographers camera, it is design to look and feel like a compact SLR with its deep hand grip, wide lens barrel, large eyepiece and rubberized body coating it appeals to the professional photographer element...
Pros: Vivid color response, if a little strong with primary reds, Ten times optical zoom provides a lot of flexibility, low distortion measurement, Lens 'fast' even at telephoto (F3.2), Respectable macro focus at around one third zoom, Excellent body design, feels very good in your hand, Lighter and sm...
Cons: Sharpening algorithm too harsh (and/or unsophisticated), Use of higher sensitivities affects image sharpness, Vignetting / Lens shading visible in everyday shots, Poor frame coverage of LCD and EVF (just 89% of final image), Not enough latitude (or fineness) of adjustment of image parameters, Lim...
Excerpt: Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. Inc., www.fujifilm.com $399.95 list 3.1 megapixels; 10X optical, 2.2X digital zoom Easy to hold and handle. Fast. Not ideal for action shots. Less sharp images with noise and graininess. Busy menu structure.
Conclusion: Fujifilm FinePix S5000 versatile digital camera The FinePix S5000 of Fujifilm resembles a diesel. When it really gets going, the best features come forward. The large optical range of this camera, the relative bright telephoto lens and the numerous settings make it a versatile camera.
Fujifilm FinePix S5000 Review is based on a production
model. All sample images are unretouched, except
where specified. The
Fujifilm FinePix S5000 has everything a
beginner or serious amateur photographer would
want in a digital camera.
Summary: The FinePix S5000 features , with 3.1 million effective pixels for crisp, vivid images. Coupled with a powerful 10x optical zoom (equivalent to a 37-370mm on a 35mm camera) it allows photo enthusiasts to easily capture images of distant subjects.
Excerpt: One camera
that got a lot of people's attention in late July was Fuji's new FinePix
S5000 ($499). The S5000 is a mix of the FinePix 3800 and
S602 models, and it's also Fuji's first Ultra Zoom (10X) camera.
Pros: 10X optical zoom lens, Supports add-on lenses; adapter ring (which doubles as lens hood) included, Manual control of shutter speed, aperture, focus, Great looking (if only it felt more solid), Low redeye, Robust performance (except for my autofocus speed), AF illuminator (though it didn't seem to...
Cons: Image quality could be better -- too noisy and over-compressed; Purple fringing, vignetting also noticeable., Slowest shutter speed available is 2 sec, No guide in manual focus showing current focus distance, No manual white balance, Plastic body doesn't feel very solid, No exposure info for phot...
Summary: The S5000 is one of the best-looking SLR-style digital cameras we’ve seen and comes from the same lines at the S602 Zoom. The plastic casing is solidly built but feels much lighter than the 448g our scales declared.
Summary: This is the seventh Fujfilm digital camera that I've reviewed
from their current range, from the budget A205s all the way
up to the top-of-the-range S7000, and it's been interesting
to see which features have been used where.
