Summary: I have used a D300, owned a Nikon D200, D60, F5 and D7000. Oooh Fuji!! Where have you been all my life!! This camera is just amazing, i don't know how i didn't discovered it before! Let me just put it in one phrase, the skin tones are AMAZING, and the colors, dynamic range and highlight recovery power is just UN-BE-LI-VABLE!
Excerpt: This camera is a work horse. It is easy to setup and simple to use. It has a larger viewing screen for reviewing your pics. For senior shooters, it has the ability to use a barcode system for tracking purposes. It is built on the D200 Nikon camera and has all of the features and benefits of that camera as well as those of the FUJIFILM S3 just better. The image quality is outstanding. There is a true visable difference between the S3 and the S5.

Excerpt: The fujijfilm s5 pro is no longer available in the new market and there are 10's of thousands of advanced and professional photographers very sad that Fuji has not continued to compete in the professional market. The color rendention and over all resolution of this fine tool will be sadly missed by many professional shooters not to say that, what would they come up with next, the compitition has re-introduce new cameras monthly, as it seems, which can not hold a candle...
Excerpt: I've recently purchased the Fujifilm S5 Pro camera and have to say, it's pretty good. The big screen is a plus as well as the digital slr design, which is easier to hold than standard digital cameras. The differen't modes are also helpful for people that are more into professional photography with settings such as capture speed, exposure, iso, etc while the automatic mode is particurarly helpful for people who are still learning.
Summary: The Fujifilm Finepix S 5 Pro is all I expected it to be and more. It is much more than a Nikon D200 camera with a Fujifilm sensor, working well with both Nikon and Sigma lenses. This camera provides at least 2 to 3 ways to accomplish most tasks and you can tailor controls and settings to suit your needs and preferences. I am also pleased with corp. product support from Fuji. The seller provided prompt delivery and satisfactory assistance.
Summary: I have tested this camera for three weeks now. I can only compare this to Canon 40D. The primary reason I bought S5PRO was the dynamic range. The secondary reason was the vivid color. The dynamic range and the film simulation mode are only available when you shoot in JPEG. When you set to RAW, the picture quality is the same as Canon 40D shot in RAW.
Excerpt: I've owned this camera now for three years. It is my first one. I use it in different ways, landscape, architecture, portrets, my grandkids and family. Despite the negative articles and controverse, i have no regrets, because the great dynamic range, different film modus and color are very well. I am shooting only in the raw format, developed with fujifilm raw. In my opinion the best there is for the S5pro, futher on with Silky pix and CS4.
Summary: I've been using DSLRs for 4 years now, but have primarily been an Olympus (four-thirds) user. I love the system for its lenses and feature packed bodies at lower price points. However, the one area where 4/3s always had an issue was high ISO and DR; when I read about the S5 Pro, it seemed like the "magic bullet", resolving both these issues at once.
Excerpt: I've owned this camera for three years. It was my retirement gift to myself. I use it for mostly pix of my grandkids, and for landscape photos. I previously used a Nikon D200, so it was very easy to use. Must say I prefer Nikon's menus, though. The S5 is built like a Mac Truck, just like the D200. Works perfectly with all my Nikon lenses and gadgets. In terms of features, it includes some which don't interest me, such as film emulation.
