Summary: I needed a great camera to take pictures of Jewelry. I got this today and was floored how well it took the pictures. I was told I needed a SLR with macro lens to get the close up pictures I needed. I did not have a $1000 in my budget so I started to research other options. The reviews I read for this camera were really good and accurate. For those who need good quality pics on a low budget, This is the Camera for you. Completely happy with my purchase.
Summary: Having used advanced model SLR cameras for more than twenty years, I was finally dragged kicking and screaming into the world of digital photography. Surprise! The model S4500 has made the transition practically painless. My biggest concern was always the need to spend thousands again to replace my old equipment. This camera makes it possible for me to re-create the results of almost all my previous gear. The secret is the instructional disc.
Summary: I must say it took me almost 3 weeks before I decided to make this purchase why you may ask, well because I am a novice now learning abt holding a camera such as this one in my hand . I kept goin back and fort reading other purchasers ' comments asking all sorts of questions .I wanted a camera that I knew was the right one for me I wanted a camera that was not too heavy , easy to use and worked well allowing me to learn everything about how to get the right angle the...
Summary: I really wanted to love this camera and it does work beautifully for me. BUT, the battery life is SO bad that it's utterly useless. Loaded with four (count them, four) new, fully, freshly charged 2300mAh nickel-metal hydride batteries I set out to shoot some late fall shots in the park across the street. By the 12th shot, I was already getting the red "low battery" warning icon. After shot 14, it struggled and then shut down.
Summary: This camera is just amazing - so many features. Auto everything and it allows real close up photography (macro and super macro). Cameras costing twice this much might have a macro photography feature - this has TWO. I have only just begun to discover all its great features and will post an update to let you know how it works out over the long term.
Summary: My 9 year old daughter bought this with her birthday money. It is a really nice point and shoot and makes her feel like a real photographer as its body is shaped similarly to a DSLR. The lens does not come off (which I knew already). The best thing about this camera as far as imagery is that it takes AMAZINGLY detailed macros. My expensive DSLR cannot take photos as sharp as this can. I actually steal it once and a while to take macros of insects.
