Summary: Two parts to this review the product itself and then my experience buying it. First, the camera itself is great for a "point and shoot" camera. I bought this as a present for my wife and she loves it. It takes good crisp photos and the camera functions well. She hasn't played around with all the features yet but she is happy so I'm good with that.
Summary: Everything about this camera is great, especially for ease of use. Great macro capability, and it captures color exquisitely. To get REALLY good low light photos, you'll need to go to manual mode however, but the learning curve for this is not bad. The mini manual supplied will get you started well, but I recommend downloading the PDF manual for complete and excellent instruction on all aspects of use. You'll LOVE the panorama function!
Summary: I researched many cameras before going on our trip to Colorado and Yellowstone National park this past September. Read many good reviews of this camera, and the price was right. Came home with some beautiful photos that look professional. The automatic setting works great, captures great detail. Easy to use. Love it.
Summary: I've owned this Fuji S4300 for a few months now and have come to love it's features and overlook any shortcomings. The #1 feature I absolutely love is, it has a VIEWFINDER. I was missing this feature from all my recent point & shoot cameras. I was getting sick and tired of trying to get a quick picture, only to see my eye looking back at me in the LCD screen.
Summary: It's unfortunate that some reviewers rate a camera based on spontanious first impressions. If you purchase this camera and take the time to learn to use it, you're going to love it! For this price, where are you going to find a camera with so many useful features? I recently took photos at my mother's 90th birthday party. Without a lot of experience with this camera, I was able to get some incredible shots. Of course I got some blurry shots too, but not many.
Summary: Perfect size, abundant features, easy to use. What more could you ask for in a compact camera.I reccomend this camera for anyone looking for a point and shoot with more capability and control than the pocket point and shoot category.
Summary: Why I need to share.... I have been a photographer for decades and have had dozens of digital cameras of all price ranges so may be helpful to some looking for this type of camera. Long lens at under $200. Not a mini pocket camera but about perfect in the hand. Had both 4200 and 4500 cameras for several weeks now and used both enough to think I know something about this camera as they only differ in the lenses.
Summary: I was in the market for a new camera, started to make photography a side hobby, and need an inexpensive camera with a good zoom, options, features, and quality pictures within a reasonable budget of course. Looked around, read reviews, walked the counters of countless electronic stores until faith found me in the form of a costco flyer. $50 off the Fujifilm S4500, I read the online reviews and was somewhat impressed.
