Summary: So I bought the Fuji S4000for my wife as a Birthday gift along with a Sandisk Ultra II 32GB card and top of the line Duracell Batteries. The S4000 is a POS it takes 2+ seconds in automatic mode to actually take the photo I can deal with this but any sort of indoor photo has streaking horizontal lines. Now I am no camera pro and acknowledge that but myself and my wife work in Tech and we know our way around a camera.
Summary: Have had the camera for about 2 months now trying to play with the settings. Only outside pictures come out proper. All the others have white lines going through the colors, looks like you printed it on a cheap printer. It is defective. After finally getting someone on the phone at Fuji to discuss and sending them examples of the pictures they have determined it is defective and have to send it in for a "refurb" replacement.
Summary: I started purchasing Fulifilm cameras with the intent of catching my daughter on her horse doing jumps at horse shows. My first camera was the S1000. It had the multiple burst mode and it worked fine except the zoom in video mode is fixed so once you start filming you can't use the zoom anymore.Next I purchased the S2000.
Summary: So far I have owned Fuji Finepix S4000 for about 30hours and let me tell you I was super excited to recieve it, but when I started using it the Flash wouldnt work. Me and my husband have tried to make it work and it just doesnt want too, even on the forced to flash mode. this was suppost to be my birthday gift, I absolutely hate it, I have sent the Fuji company an email asking for help, lets see if they can help! I hope they have answers! Good luck.
Summary: I too am a bit disappointed with this camera. Maybe I was expecting too much for the price. My biggest complaints are no override on the autofocus and the verrrrrrry slow response time from when you press the shutter till when it captures the image. I've had a few times where the camera just wouldn't focus on the right thing - e.g it focussed on a tree branch between me and the object and just would not focus on the object.
Summary: The first one I ordered had issues when recording videos. It kept flashing while you were recording and it showed up upon the playback. I sent it back and figured I just received the "rare" bad unit. Unfortunately the second one arrived and now the pictures are acting up. On the screen you can see them become distorted and after transferring to the computer they "appear" to be ok until you try and zoom in on them. They they become extremely distorted.
Summary: Thought my new camera was defective. Called Fuji support to find out it is normal to wait 2 to 4 seconds between shots! Screen goes black for 2 seconds before you can see if you captured your subject. Usually your subject has already moved out of the viewing area before picture is captured. In Action mode you have to shoot way ahead of your moving subject and hope you catch them. Still 85% of shots were out of focus.
Summary: Bought this about 2 weeks ago from someone else and have had time to check out most of the settings and options,No matter what setting you use this Fuji takes mediocre pictures. Forget about using Digital zoom at all,Video is noisy and the mike is very weak, overall a very bad model from Fuji. My 10 year old Canon S2 takes better pics, much better! I say avoid this model.
Summary: Very eager till i get the new piece in hand. very exited by knowing the variety of features. But failed miserably in photo quality taken at night, though the day light was ok. never try with this camera, even the tech support from fuji is too bad. Keep away!!!
